I've worn glasses since I was 10 (35+ years) and until Lasik is proven to be 100 percent safe & reliable (which no surgery would ever be) I'll stick with my specs.

Blondie - almost all of my exposure to music when I was a kid (mid-late 70's) was whatever was played on top 40 radio, so I'd thought that Blondie was just another disco band. It wasn't until the early 80's & college when I fell in with people with cool music that I got to listen to the albums - what a fantastic band. Fleetwood Mac (Nicks/Buckingham era) - Was always indifferent towards the hits & put off by the feathers and scarfs and white witch vibe. It's only been in the past few years of really listening (and first not changing radio stations out of reflex) to realize how wonde

I remember a 1969 kindergarten field trip we took to Friendship Airport (now Baltimore/Washington International) where they herded us all up into the airport control tower where we saw the controllers huddled around those green glowing radar screens. We also got to sit on an airplane and we each got a gold airlines pin with wings (United or PanAm?). I guess in post-9/11 those days are long gone.

Last night I had a dream that me and a couple of other people were helping to scrub some sinks for Jeff and Sue. The sinks were outdoors in the country and made of white enamel and old weather-worn wood. I had just finished cleaning one sink and started on the next when I suddenly thought that I had been using the wrong kind of cleaner, but it turned out the bottle was just mislabeled. All of this happened while we were in the middle of playing a round of golf.

If you got rid of U2, by influence, you'd also get rid of Coldplay (no U2 = no Coldplay). I vote for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, simply because I don't like them. -

re:1 - RH that I have heard/owned: some of The Soft Boys stuff Black Snake Diamond Role Globe of Frogs Queen Elvis That documentary film (Sex, Food, Death... and Insects) which was pretty good. re:2 - I'll take mid-60's Dylan over Barrett (or anyone else for that matter). But I also think that Piper is the best album of the psych era. -

Agreed. I would also include Robyn Hitchcock - two musicians that once you get past their quirky schtick are really quite dull.
