Hey, I will be there with my friend Phil who has never seen Jeff solo (he's been to the Pavillion 07/Tanglewood 08). He is more excited than I am. He's hooked on Jeff's banter and knows this is the venue for that. This will be my 2nd Jeff solo show. The first time in 2005 I met him outside and got my picture taken with him. There was a good fanbase waiting outside. I will be in row L on the floor. Kristofor

Hey Everybody, I just prepurchased Ashes Of American Flags DVD. I got a mv4 of Monday which was awesome!! I don't want to sound like a complainer but I noticed something while watching Monday. It felt very claustrophobic and I thought it was ironic since this was the reason why they shelved the Kicking Television DVD. Right? Well, I am grateful to have an official LIVE Wilco DVD but when you look at it you can definitely tell that it's at a small venue and there's maybe 3-4 cameras to capture the action. Now I'm thinking that the reason was that it was too much in 2005 to release a live CD

Hey, I think this summarizes what we are all trying to say as fans. Very eloquently. Kristofor

Hey The Bunk, What's your alias on Interference? Yeah, I was so frustrated and dizzy from trying to win tickets all day I hadn't visited VC until now at 1a.m. You get lucky? In other news my DVD-R fucked up and recorded in HQ for tonight's Letterman. I had taped last night's in SP and only got 33 minutes tonight. Even the DVR got cut off too. Damn! Well, I'll either wait for a dvd torrent or for the eventual repeat in 2 weeks or so. Just to have it for the archives. Kristofor

Hey, Yeah, the 1st WBCN song they played was the easiest I Will Follow. So the DJ claims that they will play a 2 second sample from each song once. So that will make it easier. I've even heard Somerville Theater and the new Showcase Live at Foxboro Stadium as the "secret venue". Who knows!? Great idea, but obviously very frustrating. I hope they don't announce the venue until it goes live on air. Otherwise it'd be mass chaos at the venue. Good luck! Kristofor

I'm waiting for the AM-Being There Disc 1 & 2-Summerteeth challenge! Bring it on suckas! Kristofor PS Let's hope Tweedy doesn't get any ideas and make setlists like this.

Hey, Wow! I came home to this news! Being impatient, foolish and logical I looked into the major clubs in Boston, they all appear to be booked. George Thorogood is at the new HOB. OK GO is at Paradise. Hall And Oates is at the Orpheum.!! So that doesn't leave much. I don't do the Boston club scene anymore so maybe I'm forgetting a few. I have a hunch it might be in the studio of say WBCN. Agganis Arena at Boston University isn't "small" but it fits with what I'm hearing about there being a secret show on Friday March 6 at Fordham University. Oh well, I'll guess I'll have to wake up ea

Hey, Did not see this mentioned, but U2 is on Comcast On Demand. You can see almost all of their videos and concert DVDs in HD or Standard Definition. Notably absent is the video for Please. They have the 2 versions of Staring At The Sun and all 3 versions of One. I think there are a few more different versions on here of certain songs. The concerts are U2 Elevation Tour from Boston, Vertigo from Chicago, Vertigo from Milan, Zoo TV from Syndey, and The Joshua Tree from Paris. Not sure if the Mexico City PopMart is on there. Kristofor PS Oh..yeah just click on music than go down 3 page

Wow, I'm a little stunned at this post from RS and the email we got from Wilco HQ. I'm dying to know what the other 3 songs they got to hear were. My Country Has Disappeared. Now that's a great song title. That song to me shows the most promise out of what I've heard so far. Very John Lennon in my ears. I seem to remember reading about Deeper Down being played somewhere. I don't think this has surfaced yet has it ? I really like all of the new songs that they have been playing. Can't wait until June. Kristofor

Hey Analogman, Do you have room for a new friend who also likes A Man And A Woman? It isn't my favorite song, but when I heard what U2 was doing in between records using Middle Eastern styles supposedly I immediately thought of this song. It definitely is more memorable than something like Trip Through Your Wires. I felt no immediate need to buy the remasters. I fell foolishly for the Complete U2 on iTunes which is pretty big in term of tunes but there's still a lot of stuff that's missing. I don't quite remember what. I'll probably pick them up now that I'm "back into" U2. Norbs...Dah

Hey Solace, No offense taken. I'm not a troll here. I usually post in the Just A Fan and After The Show sections. The last breaking news item I dropped was that I Must Be High was going to be on a soundtrack. I rarely get involved in the Someone Else's Song part of this message board. I was tempted to jump in on the Ryan Adams posts but avoided temptation. I've had the u2roolz screen name since 1994. I haven't changed it for memory reasons. Of course that didn't fully work out because I forgot my password on the @U2 and Interference forums! lol....I haven't been on those message boards

Hey, Well, I'm not going to jump to conclusions but you are probably obviously right. Oh well. Kristofor
-
Hey, I don't know what the "lol" was referring to, but who knows. A few posts back I saw Solace pick out the 2nd-4th singles. So I'm assuming he's also a U2 fan. I think he was laughing at my saying Bono was actually singing. Either way all is cool. Kristofor

Hey All, I listened to it again today and it is an amazing record in my opinion. Fearless. Exciting. Pushing the envelope. Expanding the U2 myth. Everything just clicks. The melodies, chord changes, arrangements, backing vocals, The Edge's solos, Bono's vocals (he's actually singing again and not speaking the lyrics). A real grower. In my ears and eyes a real masterpiece. Simply blown away! Thanks, Kristofor

Hello, Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. It's an odd time to choose to go back and play stadiums. I mean I get the chew and screw concept of it. 1 night instead of 3. But they had trouble with Zooropa trying to translate it live. I have a couple of bootlegs and the song sounds ok live but it starts at the "And I have no compass...". They only played Zooropa 3 times, Babyface 5 times (which somehow kind of worked, took the place of Tryin To Throw Your Arms Around The World as female audience participation), they actually I think tried Stay (Faraway, So Close) full band electric only a coup

Hey Moss, Friday February 27th for UK/Japan/Australia...i think maybe a combo of those 2 locales Tuesday March 2nd in the US/Canada Thanks Kristofor

Hey All, I came home last night and I was shocked to hear this strange/conspiratorial news about the leak. I waited an hour online waiting for a PM. I listened to the album for the 1st time at 415am. It really moved me and blew me away. Not one song is weak in my opinion. If I were to rank the last 3 records I'd probably put All That You Can't Leave Behind 3rd and Atomic Bomb and Horizon in a close picture perfect finish. I've kept my U2roolz screen name for VC to show that even a once die hard well let's put it this way when U2 goes on a 4 year hiatus I usually venture elsewhere for musi

Unless of course you have prostate or constipation issues and you can hear Jeff screaming Nothing ! Nothing ! etc. Wow, that'd be pretty funny in a way. Or going into an electronics store and they just ran out of Nintendo Wii's and you hear Nothing ! Nothing ! etc. LOL. I don't take bathroom breaks during this song. Thanks, Kristofor

Hey VCers, Surprised quite a few of you loved the Eugene 9-4-03 show as much as I do. So in keeping with the 2003 shows, I finally took advantage of Owlandbear and can't thank those guys enough for having such a fucking awesome site. I now just added 2 more shows from 2003: 4-21-03 the first 2003 show in the US at Otto's. Which is almost a year before the 2004 new lineup was introduced. I haven't listened to it yet, but the show opens with At Least That's What You Said and Company In My Back. Also of importance is New Madrid and Kicking Television. But the real highlight looks to be the H

Hey VCers, I LOVE A.M. - the way that the 2nd half of the album jumped out at me at some point in time and made the whole seem well whole. Yeah, the track order makes for an exciting listen. The first couple of songs all sound/seem radio friendly than the rest lay the ground work for what Wilco continues to be. There are gems throughout this cd. I think there's also a bit of a fascination with it amongst people who got into Wilco around YHF. The odds of hearing something off of A.M. live are slim. I've only heard Passenger Side live and wished I was at the 2008 Winter Residency to have caugh

Hey, I finally found in my closet the 9/4/03 Eugene, OR show. It is pretty amazing! Excellent sound and quite the setlist. Including an extra long At Least That's What You Said (7:15), Handshake Drugs (More Like The Moon version w/ Janet from Sleater Kinney), the Holy Trinity of Cars Can't Escape/How To Fight Loneliness/Not For The Season (9:30), Spiders (2002/2003 version), and a final encore of I'm Always In Love, Casino Queen, Outtasite (Outta Mind), Kicking Television, & I'm A Wheel. Oh and also early in the set: Should've Been In Love and Box Full Of Letters. Amazing! Thanks, K

Hey VCers, The Tweedy Northampton show tix went on sale just as I suspected at midnight. The double letters appear to be gone and so are most of rows A-K. I got two aisle seats in Row L. Hopefully you guys luck out by checking this shit out tonight!! Thanks, Kristofor

Hey, I also met Jeff after the Calvin show. I am now looking at the photo on my wall. I laugh every time I look at the (what must be the backstage) door in the picture. It looks like it has a DHARMA Logo (for you Lost fans out there). So I always chuckle that Jeff Tweedy is somehow tied into Lost because of that door and because there's a disembodied arm holding an umbrella to cover him from the rain. I think it was Tony Margherita's arm. Plus, my friend pointed out that Tweedy reminds him of the Wizard in Wizard of Oz and at the time Lost introduced Henry Gale who later turned out to be Ben

Hey Three Dollars, Sorry about that. Hmm. I'm pretty sure someone on here was the guy who yelled out Gun during that Tweedy solo show in 2005. Oh well. Maybe i'll see you in March. Not that I have any idea who you are. But enjoy the show! Kristofor

Hey Three Dollars, Were you the guy that yelled out Gun during the show?! If so I think you sat to the left of me. Kristofor
