I just love the way the song sounds sonically. It is nice and clean and sounds pristine enough to hear what is going on. I do wonder too how the song opens and transforms into a Nels' freakout. Do I dare say those expecting everything else to sound like this one song will be completely saddened? The quick equivalent would be if we had heard a 90 second clip of Bull Black Nova a month before Wilco (The Album). The 5 songs that were played at Solid Sound are easily accessible around these parts. It's a great thing that they all sound unique and fresh. Lots of Mikael & Pat doing that 8

First off, when I listen to Jeff's music I assume that he isn't speaking about me or directly to me. He knows better than that.

Radiohead is booked to perform on the season opener of Saturday Night Live on September 24th (with Alec Baldwin hosting his 16th time). I'm a bit upset, since I thought that Wilco would be doing this since they were in NYC the previous 2 nights playing Central Park and having Saturday off. Although, I do realize that Lorne Michaels likes to keep his guests on a tight leash "rehearsing" the whole week.

I wasn't specifically citing your post or the other ones on here (and not just in this thread). It was simply a metaphor on my part. That's kind of how it sounds though, doesn't it? I didn't get into post counts because I know that that is no way to figure out how long someone has liked the band (nor should it really matter), but it is interesting that in this thread the few people making these statements have few post counts which could be misconstrued into other generalizations (and has been on this board). {In fact, I only bring it up here to make my point.} The point that I was trying to

Yep. We should totally nail the doors shut here to people who catch onto Wilco on/after September 27th. The line in the sand was drawn after each of us caught onto Wilco. I'm glad that I was let in back in 2003. What would have I done if the people told me "no! you can't like Wilco! it's our little secret!"? What if my best friend never lent me Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and decided to keep it all to himself? Wilco isn't some special V.I.P. club that we like to close the doors on once we "catch" onto them. It's open to all people. That's what music is. It is transcendental. Although, if we want

No. The Zoran videos that were posted here a few months ago, but were made private due to high traffic volume, had Art Of Almost and quite possibly a band version of Open Mind. I think it's safe to say that these clips are culled from his Loft footage.

I wonder if it'd fit in a nice tote bag.

LOL. Yes, that's where the majority of the info came from. Sometimes I check there and sometimes I depend on my channel listings. I figure with this thread we can possibly comment on certain bands. I'm curious to check out a few of the acts listed above. Edit: I really enjoyed Alberta Cross. I'm not sure if anyone here has ever heard of them? They have that old great band from the 90s sound. The other surprise was Rival Sons. They look like a 60s band with influences in that era mixed in with the 70s. It'd be easy to dismiss them as Black Crowes clones, but I think they don't sound anythin

Hello Folks, I always wondered if there was a thread that had up to date listings for bands appearing on late night talks shows etc., so you won't miss a performance or know when to hit up youtube. Maybe pin this? TUESDAY August 9th Letterman: Eddie Vedder Leno: Cage The Elephant Kimmel: Luke Bryan Ferguson: n/a Fallon: The Kills, Gary Clark, Jr. Carson Daly: Diplo, Daily Show: n/a Colbert: The Cars Conan: n/a Lopez: Rival Sons Edit: Video links now provided.

It's nice to crank the drone while waiting in late night drive thrus.

Well, that's probably because he's dead.

I think that the band decided to put the bonus track on the cd, but as a hidden track. This way it causes 3 months and up 20 pages of discussions about the morals of the band. Consider it part of the deluxe special edition.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love Craig Ferguson?
u2roolz replied to Sweet Papa Crimbo's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I agree. I think that he should do trips at least once per quarter. Also, I wish that he'd interview more guests with no audience members a la Stephen Fry. Kristin Bell added a lot to his visit too. She has great chemistry with Craig and Geoff. -
