Wilco (verb) from the (noun) of (relative)(city). I wouldn't change much about Front Gate. It's nice to have a presale and a regular onsale as a backup plan.
-
Thanks for the serious response, but I was joking around after I read someone mention that they used an (or is it THE?) atomic clock and didn't get in. LOL. I don't know. I find that funny. I should use that one in every situation. I can't complain though. Front Gate sold me a seat for Concord, NH last year that was directly behind Grace Potter. Can't get better than that. AND next to Tinnitus Photography too.
-
OK. How many people this A.M. used an atomic clock to purchase presale tickets and were successful? This is how I keep time, so maybe I was at a disadvantage.
-
There's definitely someone in this or the other thread who was strictly looking to get 1st row. Good luck on that! Kind of unrealistic expectations. They're upset about being 9 rows behind the 1st one. Sadly, if you really want 1st row be prepared to pay a scalper who somehow magically gets those types of tickets. Mostly everybody knows the mantra of "being there for Wilco is all that you need despite where you are". A bathroom seat is kind of pushing it though, especially the Dungeon at Mass MoCa.

I know, right? I don't think some people realize that there's death, famine, disease and Kathy Griffin running rampant in this world. I'm more upset about not even seeing anything that looked like a presale. All that I saw was the same thing as last night to sign in with my password and that was it. Pretty sure I'll be lucky tomorrow or Friday for Boston. I'm not sweating it. I know what 10% means.

Hmm. I made it past the Waiting Room to only be able to update my profile. Nowhere to buy tickets.
-
Yep. I think you need to eat the blueberries to get past the waiting room. LOL
-
A scalper. If you keep hitting refresh to find the first row during all of this, then you will end up empty handed.

K Rod is now a Brewer.

Yeah. No problem at all. I appreciate your comments and insight too. I've lived without these tracks for this long, so I'm cool. I've come to expect it. I just assumed that 1 standalone track was easier to put to mp3, instead of 25 minutes/8 songs. That's one of the reasons why I thought I never saw it pop up on here. The other was due to the legality of everything which can be a bit murky, since some official stuff does seem to get traded a bit in varying means of communication on here.
-
Yes, while I agree with you I still have to wonder why something official like Unlikely Japan made the rounds a few summers ago (which was the b-side to the vinyl of You Never Know).
-
Someone saved someone saved my life tonight!! I've been wondering about this for quite some time too, but was too shy to ask. I'm not sure how much of a pain burning vinyl to MP3 is? I only assumed "no" all of this time because it never showed up on this site anywhere. I checked the 2 popular pinned threads for links, but to no avail. Anyways, if anyone is interested my local Newbury Comics has the vinyl set for $69.99. Not too much of a deal, but I'm sure it may be more on Ebay.

When in doubt, take your ears over to iTunes and listen to the 30 second samples of Wilco, Billy Bragg, and Uncle Tupelo. It may be a bit tedious but you don't have to listen to the whole 30 seconds either.

I read in EW a couple of weeks ago that if Spader got the job he wouldn't be on for the whole season. I can't recall which issue, but they gave away a bit of a story arc. I'm assuming Spader gets the gig and gets fired for being too abrasive or whatever (aka big ratings for season opener curiosity), then they spend 2012 looking internally for a new manager. Edit: James Spader EW The Office June 24, 2011 OK. Apparently he takes over for Kathy Bates at a certain point early on and thus creates the managerial opening again. Although, he will be more present than Kathy Bates who was also on Har

Going to Chicago....what to do, see, stay, etc.
u2roolz replied to LouieB's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Are you that girl? You posted the same thing in two different threads for your 1st 2 posts. Edit: You should go for the trifecta and post it a 3rd time in here Via Chicago's Rules & Regulations -
One relatively easy tip: have your friend (if they are going) or trusted relative buy tix for the other show. Or if you have a trustworthy computer: open up enough windows to search for tickets. This should work. It worked for me last time when I bought tix to two different shows. Just be patient and don't overload your browser. While one pair of tix comes up search for the other show. Then complete transaction for show 1, while show 2 tix pops up. Oh, and most importantly make sure that you're all signed up with Front Gate tix (website above) {credit card & email on file}.

I really love what the band did with Blood Of The Lamb. I wish that they'd rework some more tunes along those lines. I kind of wish that they'd do something to Jesus, Etc. to make it sound more like the album. Love the song, but it was my piss break at Solid Sound due to hearing it at every show. They should also be more open to performing both versions of Sunken Treasure on a tour. It seems like once they do it one way early in the tour, you won't ever hear the other version.

Sorry, but I thought that you guys liked to read reviews. It's ok. Harry Potter will do fine and you'll be ok too. I agree with the financial mentality, but I would have to assume that if someone likes what the trailer offers then that person will see it. Likewise, I understand that a great film may have a shitty trailer. Either way, people should have their own shitometer (or things that they'd never pay to see). For me, I now sneak into forums and jot down band names and album names and seek them out. I used to do what you do, but I sometimes couldn't shake off preconceived notions

That's the FAQ of the Day.

Yes. The FAQ portion of the Tour page is not working today. I would seek out the following website to create an account for Presale: Wilco Front Gate Tickets

As I have stated in the past, I have come across too many people who won't touch certain things because they read a bad review for it. The same thing goes for people who read a positive review for something and end up not liking it thinking that the reviews were way off base. They are all basing their perceptions around someone else's without the knowledge of just passing on any criticism and going into everything fresh with your own open mind. I don't need to read 15 film reviews of something that I liked, didn't like or felt indifferent about to change my perception of what I saw or heard. I

All presales for Wilco's Sept/Oct. North American tour will begin Wed. 13 July at 10am (local time in show city) via Wilcoworld. Registration info, etc. is available by clicking the FAQ button on the shows page: http://wilcoworld.net/#/shows/

Don't forget we're supposed to hear some On Sale info for the Fall Tour around 2p.m. EST today via Wilco's Facebook page.

Yes. But the majority of the movie reviews in Now Watching are from people's perspectives on this board. This thread has turned into a collection of reviews from music critics of one 4 minute single. I'm just surprised that people want to read so many reviews about something that they should already have an opinion about. Because as we mentioned the way they write about music seems so strange and ego inflating. Guaranteed they sit at their desk with a Roget's Thesaurus to come up with some of those words. And a film review is a bit different. The majority of film reviews spend too much tim
