What Christmas gift are you currently enjoying?
kidsmoke replied to kidsmoke's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
That was my hesitation too, but...not a bit! Very neat. Thankfully, since I also try to avoid peeing on myself. I hope to save that experience for at least my late 80's or so. -

I got a Go-Girl and can now do the one thing I ever really envied guys being able to do (well, other than getting paid equally for the same work and being able to strip off my shirt on a hot day without getting arrested)....I can pee standing up!!! Too fun, and what a sense of power! I need to find someplace with snow so I can try out writing my name in the snow. Go Girl I can think of a lot of situations where it's gonna be handy. Works like a charm, too. -

Thanks for clarifying that, Lauren, because I was clueless. Sounds handy! I love hearing of all these thoughtful gifts to allow everybody to relax and enjoy life...the Roku, cozy flannel sheets, your pic-a-nic basket! What a cool gift that is, and what wonderful images it projects of some future gorgeous balmy day with fruits and cheeses and mebbe a nice wine, enjoyed in some beautiful setting! And likely not a thing one would break down and buy for themselves, so it's even more of a treat. Cool! -
Ah, so sad. RIP, Gerry. I'll always love your music.

I'd like to see your photo, jessica! take it over here to upload: http://imageshack.us/ and then once it's uploaded, select the link that says for forums...that way you get the right sized one. Of course you can preview your post to be sure it's coming through right.

I might could...but they are just babies yet. Let's see if they make it through these near-freezing temps we are currently having at night. Man it's cold! Guess I can't complain - most of the country has been shivering for weeks. These are such wonderful oranges, I'm so glad I decided to plant this tree back when! I think it's about ten years old now, definitely earning its keep. What part of the country are you in, High Heat? I know how hard it can be to get a decent orange in some areas like Minnesota. A friend who moved from here to there always tells me the oranges in the stores aren' -

Dunja, I want to see a picture of this new haircut. I'll bet it's really cute! I've also gotten sucked into a few episodes of "Deadliest Catch"...it's such high drama, men versus Mother Nature at her most forceful! All those mountainous grey waves...yikes. I remember when this show was brand new...we were all like, "Wait, you can't act like this on tv!" All the twisted sexual innuendos, Al with his hand down his pants, and the Bundys' unique take on parenting. That must be 20 years ago now, and modern shows make "Married...with Children" look almost tame, but it was groundbreaking in i -
I love post-Christmas far more than the actual day of Christmas. I love when the nice new items have time to slip into my life and I can delight in a gift as I use it. For me, right now, it's the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour Season Three, which the kids and I watched last night. It took me right back to 1968, when I was 12...I felt 12 again watching it. It was powerful and poignant, because of course the world has changed since then, but the political comments brought to mind how little some things ever really change! Pat Paulsen's "political speech" wouldn't have sounded outdated today. T

I think it has become embarrassingly obvious how frazzled I was trying to put on Christmas this year ...no, Evonne, I totally missed that 2009 date and thought, "Well, what the hell??!!" because I was sure it had been fine after I put it up! Thank you for clarifying that, dear. Now I should disappear the header just to see if anyone notices.

Merry Christmas to you down under, froggie, even if you guys are doing it wrong. (Hint: Santa does not wear shorts and he has no idea how to surf! Reindeer are better surfers!) Funny Aussies! Have a jolly Christmas!

Merry merry Christmas, and a peaceful and beautiful day to all of the VC peeps! -
You're very welcome, and ack, sorry for the temporary header disapprearance! Seemed to work fine when I went to bed late last night. Thanks for the timely assist, Kyle. Happy holidays, everybody!

Thanks for the info, PopTodd. This is a must-have for me as I am a huge Brinsleys fan. Now to save up my nickels and dimes! Or make a very pointed request for my January birthday!

I took your recommendation, sgtpepper64, and I'm very glad I did. You are so right, this book is wonderful and deserves to be widely read!

What current Christmas TV Commercials Drive You Crazy?
kidsmoke replied to kidsmoke's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Hahaha Good one. Can I have last year's car? -
Nobody's mentioned it, so I will: The Extra Lens' "Undercard". I can't stop listening to this musically gorgeous & lyrically sharp album! It rocks and it doesn't. Nice ratio of both. Just such a wonderful & wickedly clever album. Sample lyric: "There was one thing I found that I couldn't help thinking, as they pried me free with the jaws of life None of this di- saster would ever have happened if I had not been driving my neighbor's wife to the Alta Loma Days Inn, where I'd registered us as..." hahaha, Darnielle can tell a good story. The Extra Lens is John Darnielle (of Mt. G

That's some very impressive generosity and some stellar fundraising! Thanks Jeff and Sue, you've brightened so many Christmasses over the years through your efforts!

Yes, but where? Out on the front lawn? In the apartment complex's main elevator? At Macy's, amongst the fine jewelry? Actually you're supposed to leave a leak, not so much "take" one.
-
Oh please. This is all you people have to leak?!! I don't believe it! We are going to need some more startling leaks if we hope to garner worldwide media attention.
-
Let's hope the press doesn't get wind of this & your neighbors learn the truth & you are forced to flee! Good one.
-
Following the bold example set by Wikileaks, I invite you to "take a leak" here. I'll start. My family has been calling my neighbor's motorcycle "The Fartmobile" for years. There, it's out. Go on, get those leaks off your chest and onto Via Chicago!

I have a pie iron around here someplace. Tell me more about this pizza. Where in So. CA? I love being able to go up to the mtns. for a snow day, without having to live in it! Today was rough. I don't think it even got above 80. Much more of this and the tomatoes will quit ripening. Footwear can be the answer to all of life's hardships, I think. I thought of another winter-ish thing I love...I don't have a fireplace but the neighbor does, and I love smelling the outdoor air when they have a nice wood fire going. Not so great when it occasionally turns out that the inv

People, does every flippin' thread have to be turned into an RTT? Isn't one "chat room" (RTT) enough for you all? Jeebus. I just had to read through like 4 pages of this tripe and now my eyes're bleeding.
