  1. I get to see her tomorrow night in real life! Yippee!!!
  2. Oh, Rei! I hope you are able to go! Good luck, and congratulations on the birth of your baby!
  3. Hey Solid Sounders, if any of you are still scrambling for lodging, let me know. I have a hotel room in Williamstown that it turns out I won't need, since I got offered a room at a place I prefer. But before I simply cancel my extra room, I thought I'd see first if there was a VCer who needed it. Drop me a line if you do!
  4. That Jason is a smart dude. We should get him a copy of VC Tribute #3 because Merrick Section did such a terrific version of that!
  5. AAAaaaarrrgggghhhh! You have successfully caused me to cringe. And wrap my hands up in tight balls. Your poor grandma must've freaked!
  6. Your ticket giveaway looks great, Jorge. If I didn't live a ridiculous distance away (I'm in southern CA) I might try to snag those myself! Good luck to all entrants...I hope someone deserving will win!

  8. Pat struts his stuff during the encore of Big Star's "You Can't Have Me", which rocked the house down!
  9. Here's the setlist from this night, plus a couple of photos...not very good quality, between the action and low light, but you get the idea. 10. Very, very cool, and much deserved!
  11. TemplePilot, I see that Laminated Nap is trying to be diplomatic in replying to you, and I appreciate her common sense and supportive words. But here's the thing. I made a judgement call on a post that had the appearance of being spam, and (as is our policy) immediately contacted the member to discuss the action I'd taken. This is a courtesy extended because, being humans and conversing through the internet, sometimes intentions aren't entirely clear. Via Chicago's staff, and myself, bend over backwards to give our members the benefit of the doubt when a problem arises, but when a judgement ca
  12. I know. It must suck to be the average Egyptian right now.
  13. Wild cheering in Egypt. Now maybe things can begin moving in a better direction. http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/africa/02/11/egypt.protests/index.html?hpt=T1&iref=BN1
  14. Yes, her. Deb. Deb, don't let us scare you off. We are a marvelous blend of goofy, brilliant, and cranky. A nice mix.
  15. Maybe...you don't mind if they say "Wilco" on them, do you? j/k, j/k!!! We are ridiculously off-topic here.
  16. Hahaha, I'd forgotten that one. "Ummm...no." Diane, thanks for your kind thoughts about Curly. On a happier note, my Dad's improving.
  17. Yes, it would. I would only have a problem if it appeared he was trying to use our forums to sell something. We don't allow that or this place would be nonstop spam.
  18. So true, so true. Those of you who take issue with this decision, I do see your side of the argument. This was my action, and I have outfitted myself in a black leotard and tights to best facilitate any tarring, feathering, and riding out of town on a rail that might be deemed necessary. Here's the deal. The original thread was, as Gogo has stated, "borderline". I have no problem with newbies and am in fact a huge promoter and welcomer of newbies. I read through the original thread when it was reported to me. I gave it a fair amount of thought, and ultimately decided that it did, in fact,
  19. I have that Knees single. When I interviewed Dave Edmunds years ago, during Rockpile days, I'd brought a few discs along for autographs from Nick and Dave. That Knees single was the only one Nick refused to autograph, insisting it wasn't him! I've got some of the Kippington Lodge singles too. Pretty awful, but the photos are funny.
  20. Ok, that's a seriously cute flyer and a great version of "Box Full of Letters" Too bad I have plans Friday (daughter's birthday celebration) or I'd totally consider making the trek fro Riverside to SD. Have a terrific show! Love John's reaction to your flyer! We saw them the next 2 nights, at Pioneertown & then L.A., both terrific shows. John told us in Pioneertown that they'd had a great time in San Diego & dug the little venue there.
