  1. Well dearest, as you were actually at the show, I think you could be said to have already heard the "definitive version", yes?
  2. OOH! OOH! I know this one!!! It's from some joke Jeff & Jay used to banter back & forth about, "Some are teeth and some ain't"......which evolved into "Summerteeth". What do I win??? Somebody probably knows the story a bit better than my version...
  3. Oh yes it is......it's being patiently and painstakingly labored over to produce perfection. You will love it when it emerges. A great recording was gotten, by folks who know what they're doing!
  4. Oh, and for the sake of attempting to remain on topic, I made the most delicious big vat of Irish Beef Stew last night, with fabulous broth and the beef simmered until it melted in your mouth, it was so tender. I doubled the recipe....with growing children in the house, it's necessary! But now there's a goodly amount of leftovers, so perhaps I can skip cooking tonight. Yippee!
  5. The only legitimate use of "Marco Polo" is locating your wayward children in big stores. Works great for us.
  6. I know....I couldn't get over how much he didn't look like his avatar.
  7. "In the sty"? So very sly.
  8. Be warned; this place is a sort of addiction. But as addictions go, it's a pretty nice one.
  9. Welcome to VC, humbum. Nice first post!
  10. You must, I repeat must, share the recipes for this. Oh my it sounds wonderful. Actually I guess it's all more or less self-explanatory, except would you detail the chicken instructions, and the potatoes & mushrooms, if there's any specifics we should know? I'm going to short out this computer if I don't stop reading this thread.
  11. I love Lindor truffles. And damn, you guys are really making me hungry! I'm going to print out every recipe here.
  12. Yeah, I thought it had a Kingpin-ish groove, too.
  13. Good show. You shoulda heard "Pigs that ran straightaway into the water" It kicked asses and donkeys both. People were left sockless and shoeless. John & Peter were fabulous and melodious and hilarious and several other "ous" words. The pretty and mellow and sometimes heartbreaking songs from "Get Lonely" were more powerful than I can describe which is why I won't. Oh and drummer Jon Wurster (Superchunk) was deliriously dynamic. There were no photos because cameras were barred from the proceedings although if pressed I might be able to provide you with several bad line drawings that appr
  14. No. well actually they might. As for me, I like "Shake It Off" quite a bit.
  15. We were all appointed based on our excellent good looks. Edit: In dim candlelight anyway
  16. I feel the same. Gotta meet the lovely Pocahontas as well.
  17. It was, and it was a totally WOOO experience!!! See you both in Ft. Wayne! Ok, that's probably about my limit on the smilies.... Psst, Evonne, Edie's husband Scott makes the most fabulous deviled eggs....a recipe he has promised to divulge!...and that chocolate-chocolate chip bundt cake of Morgan's is wickedly good. There were the best kalamata olives too....I may not have let anyone else have any, though....I sort of guarded the dish for much of the party.....
  18. Happiest of birthdays, happiest of years to our sweet Dreamin' Judy. Cake for everybody, to celebrate the wonderful woman! Love to you!
  19. Hi Rocky! I was just thinking of you last night when we were in L.A. (saw Ian Hunter & the Zombies)....I was thinking it's been a long time since we've seen each other at a show. Let's plan something soon, ok? Send me a pm when you get a chance! We now return you to your regularly-scheduled dissection of lyrics....me, I'm crazy about "the band marched on in formation...." and "the drunks were ricocheting" and pretty much all the lyrics surrounding those lines
  20. Froggie, come to the US. We need you at the so far fairly imaginary Ft. Wayne show. We will see to it that you get to sample the aforementioned corn and cheese, perhaps while hearing Wilco play "What Light". That would be the best of all possible worlds, wouldn't it? Yes, obviously it would.
  21. Leo, I feel like I've known you my whole life, and I miss you like crazy. See you in Ft. Wayne, right? That's a great shot! With the way we were all trading cameras around, it's a miracle we didn't each get home & discover we had someone else's camera! I'm sure our Chris was just celebrating Easter early, with her usual ebullience. Oh please, how gullible do we look? Besides me I mean? I watched the slideshow to that too, Johnny! Easy since SBS hasn't left my player in days....in fact here comes the title track! I know what you mean about trying to find good Jeff
  22. Oh, you sick woman.....might've expected this from you. Perhaps there will be a hidden bonus track with really dark depressed sick lyrics!
