http://www.clickhole.com/video/what-do-these-college-seniors-wish-theyd-known-fre-2341 A bit of satire is nice on a Thursday. And if you happen to be a college freshman, there's some great advice to be had here.

It's been awhile since we've played any Wilco-themed games around here, so allow me to start one that I think you'll have fun with. Something my daughter likes to do when she's bored or forced to wait somewhere is to graft songs together in her head, where they have common lyrics. So she'll mentally switch from one song to the next and the next, seeing how long she can keep a chain going. Try it; it's harder than it sounds! Hard to switch tunes midstream. Anyway, this game was suggested by that one, but it's simpler. All you do is take two Wilco or Tweedy song titles and graft them together

It's clearly no longer 2014, so it seemed a good time to retire this thread and start a new one. You'll find it here: http://viachicago.org/topic/50759-now-reading-in-2015/ I'm up for some fresh recommendations!

I've just noticed that our "Now Reading" thread is more than a little outdated...http://viachicago.org/topic/49623-now-reading-in-2014/ so I thought I'd start us off with a fresh new thread for this fresh bright Spring! I've been gone for at least the past week or so, at least mentally, my brain swimming in vivid images of wartime Europe cast up by these two brilliant, spellbinding books: and I can't recommend them highly enough. Both are stories that will play out in my head for a lifetime, beautifully told, original, utterly captivating. Both are lock-yourself-in-the-bathroom-so-th

Oh, that's too funny....a group of us just recently had the very same idea! The dates would seem to work, too. Nothing scheduled at Edgefield right then. I had the pleasure of lunching at beautiful Edgefield just after Tweedy's Portland show last month. What a setting!

Thanks Dan! you know there'll be no keeping me away.

Blah, you all did better than me. No luck with pit, and even the rest of what I drew wasn't great. I've just now quit trying, but Friday will be better luck, right? Right?!

Absolutely, on Feed of Man!

Such a wonderful book to get lost in. ^

Yes, and yes!

I see what you did there. Someday Soon is a pretty great song too.

Looking forward to seeing you again, Mariana!

OMG, how did I neglect Sky Blue Sky, a song I'm passionate about but which is rarely played! Good call! I almost put Black moon on my list. Another quiet stunner.
