  1. We're all beginning to look like this emoticon:
  2. I think my favorites might have been Judy & Ed's....his read "Hello, I'm a lumberjack" and hers, "Hello, I'm ok." Subversion is good, Diane. We need subversion in our lives. Oh and the meet-up table sign is nearly done. I promise it will be visible (not obnoxiously so). But easy to find.
  3. By the way, there will be a VC meet-up table set up on the big deck that overlooks Courtyard C as you enter the Mass MoCA grounds....we plan to commandeer one of those tables, and we'll mark it somehow so you can find us. (Details will follow) Please come by so we can put faces to your names/usernames! Besides, there may be goodies, and you wouldn't want to miss out!
  4. It's pretty close...just a pleasant walk away. I wouldn't even think it's as much as 15 minutes away, but maybe someone who has stayed at the campgrounds would be able to say more. On that map, Joe's field would be sort of opposite the lot numbered 1, in the direction of Brown St.
  5. They were great, weren't they?
  6. I guess the closest I've seen them would be Los Angeles, 60 miles away, and the furthest I've traveled to see them would be Paris, France, 5,620 miles. That was a terrific Paris show, and they played my request, Wishful Thinking. Good memories!
  7. Nice to discover you are genuinely your own fan! :lolI've heard some of those pretty goddamn good songs of yours! Good stuff.
  8. It's that mask they insist on wearing. How can you trust a masked bird?
  9. What a shame for us & Solid Sound if Taj is out, but of course his health comes first.
  10. Well I was basically joking but you've got to admit it would be fun. Maybe the Wilcos would lead it? Diane, excellent set of Conga Line rules!
  11. Cedar waxwings are gorgeous! Usually travel in big, noisy flocks...did you hear its weird chirp? I love when we get a big mess of them in the walnut tree, all chittering away.
  12. I'd like to hear your reasons for being determined to see particular acts, if you have a reason beyond, "I like them!" It might help me to decide for myself!
  13. All excellent choices! And you're all in for the festivities-ending Conga Line, right? I'll let Tony Margherita know so he can pencil that in for the festival's conclusion. I'm pretty sure he and the rest of TMM are going to want to be included!
  14. ...since seeing Wilco and Tweedy are a given, who else are you determined not to miss at Solid Sound? Who do you consider a must-see, and why? Who do YOU think the rest of us would be crazy to miss? An obvious choice for me is Richard Thompson...so many layers of brilliance there, and somehow I've never managed to see him before. I expect to be dazzled. I've been playing the Spotify Solid Sound 2015 playlist lately and I'm really beginning to GET, down deep, what a great, fun, passionate musical party this Solid Sound is going to be! Getting truly excited. Like this: Hey, that gives
  15. Congratulations, Neil, she's beautiful!
  16. I'm glad you're loving that! You'll be more hooked the deeper you go!
  17. This place needs a like button sometimes.
  18. "Collage can wait, Spence!"
  19. Well if the Cuyahoga River can burn, why not the ocean?
  20. When you're a kid, you tend to have some seriously imperfect ideas about how the world works. My (now grown) daughter and I were talking about this the other night and we had ourselves laughing until we were in tears about some of the things we, and others, had believed about the world when we were growing up. Sometimes it was due to white lies grownups had told us, or a misheard phrase on the news, or a simple "logical" leap we had made all within our own heads. For example: When I was somewhere around age 7, my family traveled to MN and WI to visit relatives who happened to be farming fami
  21. I feel for you, but your friend needs you. See you at SSF 5 though!
  22. There you are! So good to see your avatar! Pm to follow.
  23. Depends how brave you're feeling, Sandy. At least the North Adams P.D. are on your side.
  24. Here's some Solid Advice for all of you attending Solid Sound for the first time. Some of us have had to learn this the hard way, but I'm not naming names. http://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/2015/05/12/north-adams-police-don-drunkenly-chase-bears/EGPY1Kd3i8NmdqiXjJ4klI/story.html?hootPostID=b59724e4e0d2558ec8b1f8ee55af75e0
  25. ...to all you Wilco-loving mothers and your lucky children! Hope you are all having a beautiful day with the ones you love!
