  1. Just one for now. As a focal point for this gratefulness meditation.
  2. I say Part One because there will be a new thread each day in the coming week, with different topics but all about thankfulness. I find in these busy post-millenial times, and especially amidst the swirl of the holidays gathering steam, that stopping to remember what is right & good in life is a thing that gets so overlooked. I mean, who's got time for that? We're all so busy just putting one foot in front of the other as we race through life. So if you are so inclined, join me in a moment's meditation in this Thanksgiving week, and count up some of what we are lucky to have in our li
  3. Thanks for sharing that, Sarah! Glenn is always interesting to listen to, whether drumming or speaking.
  4. Hey Joe, do get some Baseball Project...that's Scott, Peter Buck, Steve Wynn & Linda Pittmon, and Mike Mills too these days, he's a recent addition to their lineup. It's great stuff! Songs about baseball, but you don't particularly have to be a baseball fan to appreciate them as the songs are strong on their own. I defy you not to sing along lustily, in 3-part-harmony, to "Ted Fucking Williams".
  5. Scott prefers to spell it McOi... Another huge fan of his right here. If Scott is at the show, the show will be fun.
  6. That might depend on how much you collected.
  7. Color me intrigued! That was very autumnal, and simply gorgeous. I'll have to listen to more of them. Thanks Lizish! I second the Deep Dark Woods, great call for Fall.
  8. The best thing I've read yet on Lou's passing. Thanks for sharing it!
  9. I know! It still startles me when she voices her very grown-up opinions about politics or social issues. It's very hard to believe she's almost voting age!
  10. Too bad about the drunken asshats around you, but I'm still jealous that you got to see this show. I love Southeastern, too. An amazing album!
  11. Haunted houses, costumes, decorations, jack-o-lanterns...let's see what evil (or silliness) you're up to! I got a visit tonight from Little Red Riding Hood, apparently lost on the way to Grandma's... I gave her directions and some wolf repellent and sent her on her way.
  12. I'm against picketing, but I don't know how to show it.
  13. That early clip is great! Thanks! I love to bring a Mitch cd along on long road trips, because when the going gets dull, he's great for picking up flagging spirits. The quote above brought that to mind, since "Strategic Grill Locations" is my personal favorite.
  14. "I was going to whiten my teeth but then I thought, nah, I'll just get a tan."
  15. What a unique character, what a unique mind he had. Still makes me laugh harder than anyone, at the littlest things..."I like to take a toothpick to the woods, and say "You're home!" " http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-zFQ9fOTSU
  16. Listening now, and you're so right. Essential for the Autumn mood.
  17. Thanks so much for posting that, Mike. I drank up every word.
