Just finished my first listen. The album has some odd moments, but I enjoyed it. The track placement of Get on Your Boots is odd. I was hoping to love "White as Snow" but it didn't do much for me. Standout tracks for me, other than Get on Your Boots: Breathe, No Line on the Horizon and Stand Up Comedy. Solid album. Hints of "Pop" and "Achtung Baby" but certainly not a return to those albums. Now I just need to decide if I'm willing to shell out the $70+ for the boxed set or go with the digi-pack......................

Anyone willin' to PM me details about this here "leak"?!

Looks like they're kicking off Little 500 week again. They put on a great show here 3 years ago. (Man, has it been that long?) Jeff had some classic stage banter with the crowd. Even referencing a tread here on Via Chicago about rowdy drunk students. Hilarious.

I keep hearing people say that the Grammy performance sounded rough, but I don't hear it. I thought they were in fine form! Made me enjoy the song more than the single. I liked the imagery better than the official video too. The 30 second clips are hard to judge an album by, but I have a lot of hope for the second half of the album. Stand Up Comedy, FEZ-Being Born, White As Snow, Breathe, Cedars Of Lebanon

some DVD info, but mostly about Blu-Ray

Did Jeff just take a bit out of his Grammy? LOL -
I hadn't seen those either. Very cool!

Who does the vocals on those tracks?

Thanks! Great price.

Interesting. I hadn't even seen a listing for this version of the CD. Let me know what you find out and I'll update the "Wilco's Non-album Tracks" thread. Or you could send me MP3s of the tracks!

Yup. One of my favorites. Actually gives me chills to listen to it.

I'm a big U2 and Bono fan, but I agree. I had to turn away when he did the "fake politician" form the podium thing. Tone it down a little, Bono!

I thought this was odd too. As soon as it's released to radio it'll be all over the place. I don't buy the placeholder theory. This is the cover. I like it. The equals sign reminds me of this: And yes, How to Dismantle and Atomic Bomb's cover was crap.

Holy shit, this is crazy. We'll see him again though, I'm sure of it. Glad I finally got to see the band back in the fall! -
U2 album preview int he latest issue of Rolling Stone. Get On Your Boots to be performed at the Brit awards on Feb. 18th. Track "Winter" may be on a soundtrack instead of on No Line on the Horizon. Full Q Magazine scans

The Old 97s released 2 free Christmas tracks last year. Not a full album. The Squirrel Nut Zippers album is great. So is the Barenaked Ladies Christmas disc. I also enjoy the Jars of Clay album and Brian Setzer Orchestra have a couple of good ones out. Los Lonely Boys have one out but I haven't heard it.

This slipped under my radar screen. There's a new Gold Smog "Greatest Hits" album out, called "Stay Golden, Smog: The Best of Golden Smog" with a couple of rare tracks. I'll update the main list shortly.

Tonight is the night Wilco might have played TLA in Philly
jcroach replied to billydee's topic in Just A Fan
I always assumed TLA stood for Titanic Love Affair. -
I'm a big U2 fan and I agree with you there. I'd also add in "Wild Honey" and b-side "Big Girls are Best." As far as the original question, I don't have an opinion. I haven't heard any of those REM albums and it's a shame because I used to really like them.

Here's my Christmas mix CD from 2007. Still working on this year's. https://www.yousendit.com/download/TTZtNWNsT01RYStGa1E9PQ Happy Holidays!

Thanks for the advice. I'm just trying to cover my bases before I spend any money. My son's godmother's father is an attorney and about half my fraternity brothers are attorneys so I've got several I can chose from!

Anyone have any good (or bad) experience with any online legal document prep sites, like Legalzoom.com, or any legal document preparation software? I need to create some very basic documents, like a will, advance health care directive, a trust for my son, etc.

Very cool. I've done a Christmas mix every year since 2002. I'm still working on 2008. I'll post mine in a week or so and maybe 2007's also. I exchanged mixed with Big Perm a few years back and really enjoyed his.
