A Ghost is Born

Man, they're really dropping the ball by not doing "Dear Boy" from Ram. I've always thought those backing vocals were done with Lennon in mind. If they can do songs of Imagine, they can do songs from Ram.

Well ... I have songs that are my personal favorites (I'm still holding out for the all Being There setlist!), but what I was curious about was what songs are most likely to be played. In other words, What would Wilco do? It seems to me, from obsessively reading setlist, this last go around you were: Guarenteed: IaTtByH, HMD, Shot in the Arm, Hummingbird, ALtWYS Likely to Get: Company, Hell is Chrome, Airline, Theologians, Ashes of American Flags, Misunderstood, Muzzle of Bees, Spiders, Kingpin 50/50: Via Chicago, She's a Jar Wouldn't rule out: Radio Cure, Passenger Side Surprises: Futur

But I just don't think they're going to be playing a 4 hour concert (as great as that would be!!!). I'm just saying there's going to be some tough choices to make. It'll be interesting to see at what point they elect to have the "greatest hits" tour if you will, opposed to going out and playing 3/4s of their new album + encores.

Well, lately we tend to get 1 or 2 Summerteeth songs in concert, and approx half of YHF. Is it's because it's a better album or because it's considered more "career-defining?"

"Aged" maybe isn't the best word. I feel like AGiB will age well as it didn't use a whole lot of flash-in-the-pan gimmickery. But it seems like SummerTeeth often gets written off as their "digitally recorded" album. I'm sort of starting think Wilco's career will be defined by their even-numbered studio albums. For me it's definitely becoming the case.

So, I have a hunch next tour we'll be seeing 60-70% SBS songs. What AGiB songs do you think will be dropped from the setlist? I feel like IaTtBYH, Heavy Metal Drummer, Shot in the Arm and Misunderstood are here to say, part of the "lexicon" if you will. But what AGiB songs are classics? I'm thinking ALTWYS and Hummingbird. Are we going to see as many Ghost songs on the SBS tour as there were YHF songs on the AGiB tours? Bigger question. How is AGiB going to age as part of Wilco's catalog? It was my go-to Wilco album for a while, but maybe only because it was the newest. I feel like

It's one of my favorites of the new ones! 2nd only to Impossible Germany maybe. I don't think I'll miss "Let's Fight" at all.

I think they're demos It's a grower. I'm really into tracks 2, 5, 6 & 8 especially.
