I played 19 songs -- 16 originals and 3 covers. The covers were "Game of Pricks" by Guided by Voices, "Fear is a Man's Best Friend" by John Cale, and Elvis Costello's "Radio Radio". Not many people there but it was fun and I think it went pretty well.

There are a handful of players today who are as great as the stars of the past. But sure, those 10 guys were great. There were also a lot of guys who played in those eras who sucked.

I'm guessing that it might have been different if it weren't such a controlled setting. This particular situation was a closed room with a screened audience consisting entirely of the media. I bet the secret service would be closer by and more on guard in a more public setting. Just conjecture of course.
