What a show! It was such a treat to hear songs from every album...a really great and varied setlist. Johnny, it was nice to see you and Scott again, albeit briefly. Great poster, as usual...unfortunately they sold out before I was able to get one.

I will be there.

Make me sanguine Help me genuinely Kill the doubt that strangles my self worth Paint the picture that I swore I heard Spiritless and mean The ghost that comes between I will keep my wits about myself Disregard directions sent from hell When it brings the gleam Longer lasting than me Oh my love but we are bound to die My heart is broke but you won't hear me cry Oh my love but we are bound to die My heart is broke but you won't see me.

I think These Girls is pretty great. I'd say my least favorites are Off Broadway and Two Hearts.

Happy (belated) birthday!!

Years ago, I ate lunch in a little restaurant in Boone, NC and Doc Watson walked in, played several songs, then said something along the lines of "Well, I'm going to head back up to the house now." Surreal. And now for something completely different, I bumped into Ginger Spice and Baby Spice at Abbey Road Studios in London.

Looking forward to hearing this one, too.

It was Don Delillo, whiskey, neat And a blinking midnight clock Speakers on a tv stand, just a turntable to watch When the smoke came out our mouths On all those hooded sweatshirt walks You were a stroke of luck We were a goldmine and they gutted us And from the sidelines You see me run Until I'm out of breath Living the good life I left for dead The sorrowful midwest Well I did my best To keep my head It was grass-stained jeans and incompletes And a girl from class to touch But you think about yourself too much And you ruin who you love Well all these claims at consciousness My stray dog

I just saw this on Ticketmaster. Sucks for me, because I'm not going to be in front of a computer on Friday morning. Good luck!

Icky Thump - New White Stripes album
Elixir Sue replied to Welsh Rich's topic in Someone Else's Song
Unfortunately it wasn't released on vinyl...V2's decision, I think. There are a few hundred promo copies (apparently), so you might see one of those pop up on eBay occasionally. Watch out for people selling one with colored vinyl, though...the general consensus is that it's a bootleg. Maybe someday it'll get a proper release. -
Ryan's site still says "presale info to follow". Looking at the other presale dates, I'm guessing it'll be on the 9th.

How great was that?!? I'm glad you enjoyed it. I LOVED them opening with Stop Breaking Down, and I LOVED that version of 300 MPH Torrential Outpour Blues. Ooh, not to mention the scorching Ball and Biscuit and Death Letter. Where did you end up? I stood at the front, but off to the side, a little left of Meg...
