Not the typical take on the saga. A little slow, but pretty literate and some historical touches worked into the story that were a bit out of time. Overall, it was a pretty good flick. Russell Crow is a really good actor.

Great 50th Saturday. Got a HTC hero, iPod touch...went to see Ironman 2 and Robin Hood...had good friends over for steaks...sat by chiminea by the pool... Good times...

It is a great song. Just not the song they should have played after being introduced as "the best rock band working in the world today". (And Ferguson was absolutely sincere) To seal that the deal for that kind of introduction they should have played Bull Black Nova.

I will agree with that. HOWEVER, I forgive them those slights because they have attempted, and largely succeeded, in creating a six year story arc that managed to GET ON TELEVISION IN THE US. In an atmosphere that demands instant gratification and really stifles creativity and independence, they managed to create a story and tell it as they wanted to.

To add to the existential angst I am experiencing with turning 50, yesterday I got a sales brouchere mailer from a 'Retirement' village. Nice.

Also...how did "Mother" kill the villagers? We saw that MiB conceived, made and was going to construct the FDW. Who re-excavated the well and actually bult the FDW? (Maybe not that important...probably some other group brought to the island.) Where did the statue and temple come from? Neither were shown last night. If it was a group that came to the island after the events of ATS, why would they use Dynastic Egyptian symbols and constructs?

MiB could retain his former shape/appearance because his body remained intact on the island. When he asumed Christian's shape did he lose the ability to assume another form? How did he assume the appearance of "Dave" (Hurley's imaginary friend who the writers have said was MiB)?

So...Just what is the MIB's name?

I must say I am a bit guilty of that myself. However, as I do ALL the laundry, I am only penalizing myself. A couple of years ago, I bought downtown a nice chaise chair for the bedroom for her to sit in and read or watch TV. She uses it as a clothes rack.

To add insult to injury, on top of turning 50 next week and experiencing an existential crisis, I sprained my MCL and my ACL today. No chasing down a purse snatcher. No hard tackle by a roid crazed middle linebacker. I stepped in a hole and instead of rolling my ankle, I almost blew out a knee. Sweet.

Nah..I'm trying to change my ways. I seem to piss off just about everybody now and again and have been chastised enough for my liking.
