Uncontacted Indian tribe spotted in Brazil
NightOfJoy replied to IRememberDBoon's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Its being reported now that the one guy in the middle is Jim Morrison. -
I watched "I Am Legend" for about 35 minutes before turning it off. Make mine a Heston and "Omega Man", please.

IIRC, Robbie wanted to cut Muddy Waters from the show at the last minute. Levon would have none of that, suggesting instead that that travesty Neil Diamond be removed from the gig instead. Robbie.....what a tool. Levon.....a national treasure. Read "This Wheels On Fire" for many more details.

"Man vs Wild" Watched some of it last nite. I think I like "Survivorman" better.

Yeah..........what 15 years will do to a guy.............early 90s in Chicago was a lot of fun, quite the buzz in the air (so to speak).........................and Liz is still smoking hot!

I never saw Magnolia. Did the finished product end up on-target?

"Network" with Faye Dunaway and William Holden. Somehow, I'd never seen this one before.........a very insightful film on the nature of media and the state of the world (and how corporations own both the world and the media). This should be required viewing for thoughtful people everywhere.

Love - Forever Changes(Re-Release)2 CD
NightOfJoy replied to howdjadoo's topic in Someone Else's Song
I got the 2001 reissue in the cut-out bin for $5 a few years ago. Honestly, there's a couple good tunes but overall.....I dont see what all the fuss is about. -
Could Widmark have helped Sun foot the bill?

Want to see KT Tunstall in Chicago?
NightOfJoy replied to VenusStopsTrain2's topic in Someone Else's Song
Was Shocked playing that day? I'm surprised I dont remember her playing. The timing was right, she was kinda big back then. Maybe I didnt hang out for her part of the show. I suspect that there was a weed fest happening further north in the park that drew us up that way and after that, the Art Institute. Ahhh...to be young, dumb and without ANY responsibilities..... -

XRT trots them out every so often for free shows. I've had the unfortunate experience to see them live once or twice. One time was memorable......when Earth Day returned in (90?), they played in a field in Lincoln Park. Some guy in a business suit attempted to burn an American flag and was promptly trounced by some Earth Day fest attendees. -

XRT has been shoving the Bodeans down Chicagos throat for over a decade. I'll never understand why. -
I just LOVE Planet Waves.

I know a couple people who've seen shows this week........Bobby and Phil seemed to be getting along pretty well the other nite........
-
Yep. He used to pinch a loaf on stage sometimes too. I recall his music being real loud and abrasive but not in a good way.

Was GG Allen metal or performance art or junkie ramblings? I could never figure that guy out.

I knew a dude back when I used to hang around the town of Cicero IL (which was a tremendously eff'd up town back in the day, still is actually) that worshiped King Diamond. To pay tribute to KD, he started a band named Natas....which is satan spelled backwards....

No way am I playing with those conduits to the nether world....nope......not a chance.

I just felt a chill.

Back in my suburban freak/stoner daze, I was afraid of King Diamond. That whole satantic angle still wigs me out a bit.

I think you're referring to Watkins Glen. I believe its more famous for the size of the gig than the GDs performance that day. Concerning other favorite shows, you really cant go wrong with 1977 for sheer perfection and grooviness.

I completely and utterly grok ya!
