Oh man... I saw a version of this show a couple of years ago in Sydney (sans a lot of the people mentioned above) but it was still wonderful. One of the best shows I've seen. So to hear this has been filmed is great news. Is Chris Stamey still a part of the band? He was the bandleader on the night I saw the show and his love for this music was so infectious. It was a pleasure and a joy to watch him on stage.

I got so excited when it started because for a split second I thought it was something from Star Wars. Not sure why. Still, it was an absolute pleasure to hear. I always skip it when I'm listening to the record because it just doesn't seem to fit for me. Hearing it last night, though, was pure elation. I'll add to the comments above...there was so much joy in the room. Jeff and the band were very obviously enjoying it a lot. Lots of on stage laughter smiles and good times. Wow...I can't add much to eckythump's excellent review above except to say that this show was special in a number of ways...the small town location, and the significance of the fact that this was Jeff's first ever solo performance in this country. So for him to start with I Am Trying To Break Your Heart, the song which started this whole Wilco journey for me so many years ago...well, it was one of many special moments last night. Other random thoughts... Loved Hazel as an opener... Nobody Dies Anymore was stunning. That song was the one that leaped out at me first when the solo album first ca

A wonderful show in a beautiful small town. Still barely in phone range where I'm staying as I type this so a detailed review will follow when I arrive home tonight. My wife took a heap of photos so I'll get those up, too. Just gotta agree here that Five Years is also one of my Bowie favourites. A very special way to end the show.

That is terrible but glad he got out of your face. The crowds in Sydney for each show were so respectful. Lots of cheering and whooping it up during Dave's solos, pindrop silence between songs but it was very expectant silence, 'cause when the banter started up there was a lot of good-natured exchanges between them and the audience. There was a whole lot of love in the room. Eleven years between shows is a long time.
