I didn't realize it was free to attend Georgetown.

"Wilco even brought in an avant-garde jazz guitarist, Nels Cline, to give them more credibility as a tricky gang of sound-experimentalists." 100% wrong. Anyway, I guess this writer didn't hear that Van Halen is back.
-
I typically see them between zero and two times per year.

I read his Wikipedia entry. It's funny that his old band kicked him out for trying out for The Cult "behind their backs." What rock drummer trying to make a career in music wouldn't try out for The Cult if the gig were available?
-
Interesting. I woldn't have guessed. Based on that performance of Thank You, I feel he was the most authentically Zeppelin sounding drummer Plant and Page have worked with since Bonham died.
-
Yeah, this guy's awesome. I didn;t see those tours, and I didn;t even see the entire MTV thing they did, but he tore it up on Thank You. What else has he done?

Airline to Heaven. Although, I don't know if they still play that one.

You could look for the spot from the cover of I Am Trying to Break Your Heart. When you find it, make sure to jump up and click your heels.

What does your upcoming concert schedule look like?

Try playing him something Nels is a sideman on. Mike Watt's Contemplating the Engine Room might be a good place to start. Any guitarist should be able to find something on there that blows them away. -

It was a fun show. Guests included Margaret Cho (a fairly new Atlanta resident), Jack McBrayer (a native of Atlanta's far flung suburbs) and musical guest Eleanor Friedburger (from Fiery Furnaces). We had to leave a few minutes early, so we probably missed a strong ending. They played some music, showed some unaired clips, had a Q&A session with the audience, and a slide show of Fred and Carrie's old photos. There was a notice on the entry to the venue that the show was being filmed, so you'll probably get to see a tour film at some point. -
3/4th or talking heads waiting on a call

Nothing could be further from the truth. People all over the world would love to see them get back together. They remain one of the best loved and most respected bands of their era. -

So I have something to admit that is both sad and funny

You had me at "I have issues." -
And Greg Allman. He should ask them to be his backing band.

Can't see the picture, but 99.9% certain that solo was played on a Coral (electric) Sitar.

This is a perfect example of a song that is amazing, but people discount it due to overexposure. Anyone who worked in a chain restaurant in the '80s or '90s has heard this song tens of thousands of times.
-
So what? That plan was stated repeatedly during his original election campaign.
-
So I guess that it's time for the 90's nostalgia, huh?
jff replied to PopTodd's topic in Someone Else's Song
We've been in a period of '90s nostalgie for at least five years. You haven't noticed? -
There's one. They come off as little more than an updated version of G. Love and Special Sauce to me.

Nothing on Pet Sounds is as good as Don't Worry Baby.

She says she can't get past the opening track on any of their albums, and doesn't know what to do. Um, try skipping the first tune. It's not that difficult.

Depends how easily you get a sunburn, but I guess you could say that about most of these big festivals.

I wonder what they would have predicted for their own futures.
