  1. I was there, too! That's still one of my favorite concert-going memories, seeing two of my favorite bands at the time back-to-back. (I was almost 30, but felt giddy as a 15-year-old.) As for the news about Adam, I'm still reeling. (Just last week I was watching an old FoW DVD, a concert film called "No Better Place: Live in Chicago.")
  2. I thought your joke was very funny! Laughed out loud.
  3. Day 4 is going right now. All four days have been gems. Lots of music, lots of banter, lots of hanging out.
  4. Thanks for that jambase link, nalafej and theashtraysays! That's going to prove very useful.
  5. Love ya, man. It was a beautiful story and I'm glad you shared!
  6. Agreed! I eagerly anticipate her posts every single day.
  7. I'm a huge Criterion fan. Over the weekend I watched several early short films by the Safdie brothers ("Uncut Gems") on the streaming service.
  8. I have it, too. I have enjoyed other Wilco books much more.
  9. My first movie of 2020 was a re-watch of "Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood." Looks even better a second time through.
  10. Welcome! This is a great place. My favorite song, too, might be "IATTBYH."
  11. I'm in the same spot. Lyrically, "Citizens" is right up my alley, but sonically the song doesn't grab me. "White Wooden Cross" and "One and a Half Stars," on the other hand, are album highlights for me.
  12. Hi bleedorange! Great to see you back in these parts!
  13. Meg, I checked your account and made an adjustment. You should now be able to post under your original username of "MegPepper." Please let me or another admin know if that's not the case. Sorry about the technical hiccup!
  14. Well, the new album is finally here. After a dozen spins, I feel confident in ranking Ode to Joy at the very bottom of my list. As a long-time Wilco fan, I'm not happy or sad about this. It is what it is. Given the band's recent trajectory, though, I feel safe in saying that the only thing that could possibly bump the new album from the bottom is the next album (barring some kind of space-time continuum miracle). 15. This is dead on. "Cry All Day" is major Wilco.
  16. Brian Fallon alludes to the Beatles in "Forget Me Not": And bring a football top and a play that you wrote / And an English song by a band that you love / Here comes the sun, little darling The joyous music video, it could be argued, also alludes to the Beatles playing at the Cavern Club. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jf4qiIs2AU
  17. Over the last few days I've moderated more than 60 spam threads/posts. Those users are then blocked. We're trying to stay on top of the epidemic!
  18. Not Wilco, but it still feels right to mention hearing: "Graveyard Shift" tonight in a local, independent restaurant. It was part of a playlist created by the owner.
