  1. I smell like a combination of flowers, citrus and vanilla bean. (Fiori Di Sicilia) Plus, I am aboriginal American, and do not share in the income from the Casino Queen, or any other gambling riverboat.
  2. Sarah's dad explained to me that it is Jewish custom to not use the names of relatives that are yet living. (Totally opposite of my family tradition.) Two of my favorite boy's names, Seth and Max, were living relatives in his family. It is fortunate then that we had a girl, as Sarah was the name of his great aunt, "a character and drinking establishment owner" who had already passed.
  3. Indeed! Her mother's name was Margaret Mary, and I am Margaret Christine.
  4. My mother's name is Mary Margaret. She is called Margie (with a hard 'g') by all who know her. When my dad was goofing around, he would call her Maude or Maudie. I love that name.
  5. This looks like a very cool place: April 14, 2007 Pomeroy, OH Fur Peace Ranch http://www.furpeaceranch.com/
  6. "I started smoking cigarettes when the weed got too expensive." (My sister.) Where the heck have you been?
  7. Yeah. It's interesting the way all of those people came together, and the direction they all went in the subsequent years. From the sublime to really cheesy. Also, I think Chris Hillman and Randy Meisner became born again, didn't they? (Good to see you around too, Lou.)
  8. Funny you should mention this, as recently a friend and I had a long conversation about Byrds/ Poco/ Flying Burrito Brothers/ Loggins & Messina / Crosby Stills Nash/ Desert Rose Band/ Emmy Lou etc, etc. Gave me a big hankering to update my CD collection.
  9. I cleaned out the greenhouse and part of the garage. Threw away a bunch of stuff. Got some sun in my eyes. Read. Pined for viatroy. Watched The Big Lebowski (my least favorite Coen bros production). Talked on the phone alot. Happy New Year you denizens of the 'Umm" forum!
  10. Most of my vinyl is in pretty bad shape, honestly, especially those from the 'stay up all night' 80s. Once during a discussion on VC I found out that I have a valuable copy of this album. Depending on the cover and pressing, this album is worth upwards of 7K.
  11. Awwww, Ryan, such a beautiful angel baby! Congratulations, kisses and hugs to the four of you. I'll bet big sister is over the moon too.
  12. Mmmmm. Hot buttered rum. Johnny Lackey knows what I'm talking about. For the base 1/4 lb butter 1 lb brown sugar 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg 1/4 teaspoon cloves To serve Meyers rum apple cider Mix the butter, brown sugar, and spices well and store in the refrigerator. When serving, combine 1 tbs of the mixture with 1 1/2 ounces rum in a cup, then fill the cup with hot cider.
  13. My 70 year old dad just called from Florida. He wanted to tell me he just got back from the grocery, and he's making chicken wings with bleu cheese dressing, veggies and copious gin and tonics for the game. "Game of the century, Chrissy! You gotta watch it!" Love that man.
  14. My mother will have my head, but I say Wolverines get one for the Gipper. You mean Bo died the weekend of the big game? Damn.
  15. Watching bike racing in the Scottish Highlands would be worth the price of admission for this film.
