Pretty good, actually. (They did three.) Anyway, you guys are kind of an impatient bunch, aren't you? The show just ended like an hour ago. Well, I guess ask and ye shall receive... I Have 2 Floors for 6/23 looking to trade for 2 Floors 6/25
bböp replied to MFF0RD9's topic in Got Extras?
interested parties might have some trouble doing that since PMs aren't currently active. you might want to leave alternate contact info. -
Saw it the other day. It really is a pretty touching film, almost surprisingly so. And you don't need to be a metal fan at all to enjoy and appreciate it.

They were called Morricone Youth, and were/are friends of Mike's if I recall correctly. Not sure if they're still around, but I really liked their set that night. I think the horn section they had with them was made up of three Brown University kids who played with them at the show in Providence a few nights before and did so well that they were invited to play at a couple more shows on that little run.

Good comma policing, Lou. Nels will be playing with Carla Bozulich as Scarnella at this show. So it should really be Scarnella and Pronto on the billing. Also, I believe there's already another thread about these SoCal dates with Nels and Mike somewhere. Perhaps a merge is in order.

I think it was a joke. Feist is definitely on the new record, on a sort of duet with Jeff on the song "You and I." And she's been a frequent collaborator with a number of different artists over the course of her career -- Broken Social Scene, Peaches, Kings of Convenience, among others. And to answer the original question, I think you are correct about this being the first album with the same exact lineup as the last one.

Yep, I'll be there (or at least I'm planning to be).

If I'm not mistaken, that was from a rare Nels Cline-Alex Cline duo show in San Diego in January. They rocked out that night!

Yeah, I'd definitely say the headliners are pretty weak (at least for my tastes) but I think the second and third tiers are decent. In the second tier, there are the Decemberists, Andrew Bird, Girl Talk, Bon Iver, Lily Allen, among otherrs. And there are a number of acts on the undercard that I'd like to see as well -- Rodriguez, The Knux, Sarah Siskind, Sara Watkins, to name a few.

I think they should do a whole tour of just West Coast wineries. That would surely piss all the remaining old-school fans off.

I'm guessing you probably won't hear much from it until it actually comes out.

It was a gorgeous day in the Big Easy and, for a festival, I thought this was a pretty darned good performance. The band was loose when it needed to be, serious when it needed to be and showed a lot of versatility. Above all, the guys just seemed to be having fun. We got some good banter from Jeff, mostly as it related to a flag of a mustache that he kept referring to as pork chops. We got a start and restart on A Shot in the Arm. There was a funny moment -- not for John, I guess -- when he took a tumble on the band "amp jump" before I'm The Man Who Loves You. (He recovered nicely.) And the

Here was the complete setlist of what was played in Oxford (someone who got a printed setlist might be able to confirm, but I think they almost certainly didn't play at least three or four songs that were planned): Sunken Treasure You Are My Face IATTBYH Pot Kettle Black Handshake Drugs A Shot in the Arm At Least That's What You Said Jesus, etc. Impossible Germany It's Just That Simple Forget The Flowers Misunderstood The Lonely 1 Shouldn't Be Ashamed Box Full of Letters Heavy Metal Drummer -------------------------- The Late Greats Hate It Here Walken I'm The Man Who Loves You -------------

I have to say that Sloss Furnaces was a totally awesome and unique venue! The actual space where they have shows sort of looks like a giant airplane hangar from the outside, but inside it's much smaller than you think. And man, the entire place is really, really eye-catching and a testament to a certain era in American history. It seemed like a very enthusiastic crowd, and though it's probably a little clich

The above setlist is accurate, though it didn't make mention of special guests Scott McCaughey (acoustic guitar), Peter Buck (electric guitar) and Bill Rieflin (tambourine) on California Stars. McCaughey also stayed on stage to play keyboards on Misunderstood, joining Mike at his "station."

It's a Judee Sill song. Not sure where exactly it appeared in the film, but maybe as an instrumental passage in one of the "transitional" shots?

The Wiltern is GA, so if you want to get close, just get there early.

You forgot Jesus, etc.

Hadn't seen it mentioned here yet -- and I'm not sure what this has to do with anything, except that I guess Wilco will not be playing on Aug. 1 -- but Nels and Mike Watt will apparently be opening up at M. Ward's free Central Park Summerstage show that day. Brooklyn Vegan had an item about it the other day. To add to their coverage a little bit, Nels said that he and Watt will be playing together (of course) in a group that also includes Yuka Honda and maybe one or two others. Apparently they'll be doing an improv-heavy project that Watt has wanted to do for a while.

Wilco at Brewers game, Jeff throwing out first pitch
bböp replied to ryann7739's topic in Just A Fan
I have to say this is kind of bizarre. How many people at the game are going to be like, 'Who?' (Then again, I guess most people who throw out first pitches are relatively random.) -
The arrangement of One Wing sounded pretty similar to the live version, at least to me.
