  1. Last night? Pretty much 9 on the dot. But starting times vary a bit depending on the venue, so I would say you could expect the opening act to go on right at the announced showtime. Then Jeff about an hour later, give or take.
  2. If he would only do "Feels Good" someday (with maybe a little dance step), I could officially retire from showgoing. (And I believe proper style on TTT is Tony! Toni! Toné!, btw) But yeah, I was debating whether to include "aka Anniversary" or something on the setlist, but whatever. I wonder how it was listed on the setlist Jeff had at his feet last night. He mentioned when he came out for the encore that the setlist had So Much Wine listed as "Summer Wine," so who knows if that was a joke or not. Interesting that he's using a setlist for these shows. I wonder if they're actually a somewhat
  3. It's been done at a few of the living-room shows, and I think at least once at the Vic benefits. But yeah, I was a little surprised to hear him do it tonight!
  4. It appears we need a mod to merge threads. Thanks!
  5. :cold :cold :cold :cold :cold :cold :cold Brrrrrr...it was pretty bone chilling in the Mile High City today/tonight. I need to go thaw myself out some more, so I guess this will just be a preliminary report. But suffice it to say that Jeff turned in a very solid set with a few nice surprises (Nothing Up My Sleeve!). It was a night of long and short songs. I can't remember ever hearing both Remember The Mountain Bed and One Sunday Morning at a show; Jeff also played several of the shortest songs in his oeuvre (or "oooov-ruh," as he pronounced it) such Please Tell My Brother and Bob D
  6. It really is old-school VCers week on, uh, VC! What's next, the re-emergence of Shiney McShine? And IMHO, the "what white people like" argument with respect to Wilco (and generally speaking, the sub-categorization of musical fandom into racial blocs) is pretty tired. Even if there may be some truth to it -- and fwiw, there were people of color at the above LRS -- who really cares?
  7. I'm not necessarily the biggest Margaret Cho fan, but this was pretty awesome. And there's a Wilca mention! Talk about old-school VC.
  8. Not to be too nitpicky or anything, but I just have to say...the song is Open Mind. There's no "Your." And I think I've said it before, but it's just Give Back The Key To My Heart; there only one key! (And also, no "Me.") As for the Peoria thing, of course they knew they were "breaking the pledge" and I think Jeff acknowledged as much. He said basically that maybe it was OK because it was their first time playing in town. They have kept their word at the other shows I've seen since...
  9. Actually they did do it at the AmericanaramA show in Peoria (shhh!), but I think that was because it was the band's first time ever playing there, which is sort of unbelievable in and of itself. But yeah, I think that "bit" is probably mostly done...haha.
  10. I wasn't there, but saw this post on the Austin Chronicle blog. Doesn't provide much in the way of a setlist, but sounds like it probably was a fairly "standard" set... Sounds like the crowd didn't help either.
  11. Gotta think that Farm Aid would've been his largest solo performance, though I wasn't there so I don't know how it would compare to LouFest or other fests. I mean, it can be kind of hard to gauge crowds at events like a fest in terms of how many people he actually played in front of. He also played solo at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in SF a few years back, but that's such a sprawling event (from what I hear) that who knows how many people actually watched his set? Anyway, also wanted to post in this thread that the good folks at Largo sent out a note today to apologize for all of the ticketin
  12. I agree...you shoulda been scribbling notes for all you're worth! Come on, man...er wo-man! Sorry, been a little busy lately to check in here. But I do appreciate the adherence (mostly) to thread title style by the Preferred One. And thanks for the reports, you guys! Sounds like it was a fun day! I will say that the setlist "Wilco" posts on their FB/Wilcoworld definitely aren't always accurate. Usually the discrepancy happens when the band audibles on stage or cuts some stuff, but weird that they missed New Madrid right in the middle of the set.
  13. So the Autumn D are gonna play the Wilco show on 10/11 and then race over to wherever Lambert's is and play their gig later that night? Guess it's happened before...
  14. Kudos to Danny for "using" his position as a film critic and his fairly insider-y Wilco status (he's the brother of Mrs. Tweedy, for anyone who might not know) to give us a very nice interview! And of course, Mr. Nice is always so generous with both his time and his perspective. Definitely check out this film (or rather these films) if you get a chance. I see that it's now on VOD, so should be open to the masses. I got to see it on the big screen at a film festival a while back and found it very enjoyable, though those looking for any Wilco — or even Nels Cline Singers — content will be disa
  15. Just out of curiosity, was that Ryan Bingham's white supremacist cousin?
  16. Here's a nice interview with Thompson post-AmericanaramA with some nice words about Wilco and being on the tour (and having Dylan cover him)!
  17. Ryan Bingham's fiddle player is named Richard Bowden. And not to nitpick here, but I've seen it elsewhere too and I just have to say that the song is Give Back The Key To My Heart. There's only one key! Glad you guys got it in Camden. And I do believe that might've been the first time the full band has done Solitaire. Definitely a rarely played one...
  18. Apparently Beck has been playing Cosmos in some of his sets recently (including the one at Le Poisson Rouge on Friday night) so I guess it's not as out of left field as I also initially thought when they started playing it. Great choice for a collaboration, though since Beck was the one who had been doing it, it was a little weird that he seemed to struggle a bit with the lyrics. But then again, as someone pointed put to me, he kind of has that ramshackle vibe with some of his own songs... Just wanted to point out maybe my favorite tiny bit from last night's merriment, which was when Sean Len
  19. For anyone interested, here was Beck's complete setlist as played: Jack-Ass Lazy Flies Guess I'm Doing Fine Now That Your Dollar Bills Have Sprouted Wings [song Reader] Sorry Just Noise [song Reader] Don't Act Like Your Heart Isn't Hard [song Reader] Sissyneck (w/Bang A Gong (Get It On) and Billie Jean interludes) The Golden Age It's All In Your Mind Dead Melodies Country Time (instrumental; w/Richard Bowden on fiddle) [edit: this may have been Dylan's Nashville Skyline Rag, but it was not listed as such on Beck's printed setlist] Fourteen Rivers Fourteen Floods One Foot in the Grave (Beck so
  20. I love Cosmos, too. To be fair, though, they didn't totally nail it. Seemed like Beck struggled with a couple of lines. They should have let Pat sing a verse, IMHO. They did rip Yer Blues, though. And I was glad to finally see Tomorrow Never Knows, which is the only semi-regular collaboration I hadn't yet. Another fun night, despite a somewhat lame crowd.
  21. Here was Wilco's complete setlist, as played: Born Alone Sunken Treasure (Jeff on acoustic, no harmonica; Pat on keyboard) Muzzle Of Bees Hesitating Beauty Hummingbird (dedicated to Matty [sp?] ..."this is his first rock show") Impossible Germany Art Of Almost War On War Dawned On Me A Shot in the Arm I Am The Cosmos [Chris Bell] (w/Beck on lead vocals and Roger Manning on backing vocals) California Stars (w/Beck on acoustic guitar, harmonica and backing vocals) Loser [beck] (w/Beck on lead vocals and Cibo Matto and Roger Manning on backing vocals) Yer Blues [The Beatles] (w/Sean Lennon on e
  22. Stuck it out till just before 2 am and nothing happened. MMJ's drummer Patrick did come in with a few folks, and they had a private hang in the music room (and were still in there when I split), but I got the sense it was more of a "get a look at the place" kind of thing. So there you go...debunked. Hopefully.
  23. I parked up by Maxwell's, so I figured I'd swing by for one last drink. Then I saw your post. Anyway I'm still here and there's no sign of any Americanarama-related folks yet. Not to say something won't happen, but I'll wait it out for a bit.
