benjamin
Think Jordan would have ever lost to the Detroit Pistons if he had Shaquille O'Neal? I think not
Mr. Kinsley
But I'd still take MJ if my life was on the line. Every time. Not really even close. If your life is on the line due to a basketball game, you need to re-think who you're hanging out with.
MrRain422
Think Jordan would have ever lost to the Detroit Pistons if he had Shaquille O'Neal? I think not I don't know, man, Shaq was only like 18 years old.
benjamin
Where's kobe in the 2nd and 3rd quarter? I don't recall Jordan playing like this in an elimination game?
bobbob1313
So Jordan was better. Kobe's still pretty fucking good, but he bought too much into the "being a good teammate" thing everyone has been screaming about for the past 5 years. He should be taking this game over like he used to, but he doesn't want eveyrone to think he's selfish again. That's my take, anyways. Either way, the NBA playoffs are really boring... tugmoose
So, Phil, was this one "stolen" by the refs?
bobbob1313
The refs in the NBA are pretty terrible around the league. Not going to say anyone stole any games, but they've sure as hell given some away in the past. Bitching about the refs or bitching about other people bitching about the refs is obnoxious. benjamin
That was the most swearing i've ever heard bleeped out leading up to the celebration. Awesome.
MattZ
Jeez you Boston fans are having quite a stretch. I don't know that I'd go so far to say that the 86 yrs of Red Sox misery were worth it. I mean, lots of fans lived and died without seeing a World Series championship. But wow, this is pretty close. Congrats to the Celtics fans in the house.

Gobias Industries
Yeah, congrats to the Cs, the Lakers pretty much bent over and took it. So I was 50% right about my prediction...
fatheadfred
Phil Jackson at halftime pretty much sums it up: "...just don't give it away..." Well the Lakers did, but the Celtics took it as well. A lot of teams fear 'taking' a game like that. Psychological or something. But, damn, I smiled liked no other watching that game, except for a few times when I felt sorry for the Lakers. What an ass whoopin. To Rajon: big heart, hands, quick, excellent defender...please learn how to shoot over the summer. Anyone know if this team will still be together next year? jcarlile1
The NBA.....the most exciting sport ever.......I. Love. This. Game. Congrats Celtics, very much deserved, and especially congrats to Doc Rivers, who has been my favorite player since his Marquette days (yes, I'm old), and now to have accomplished this, I'm very proud.. Now I have no sports to watch, well, some football, but baseball to me is just downright boring....
benjamin
Worst finals ever (well... maybe not ever, but up there) .... nowhere near the hype. Best interview ever....
Lammycat
Worst finals ever (well... maybe not ever, but up there) .... nowhere near the hype.I'm genuinely curious about this. Is it the overall quality of playing? Because the Lakers blew? Not a solid match up? The coaching? The cities? What? What made it the worst Finals ever?
tugmoose
Worst final ever: 2003 Spurs-Nets. Even though there were no blowouts, the quality of play was very poor. Long stretches with few points may be a sign of good defense, but it makes for bad viewing (and I love 1-0 baseball and hockey games).
fatheadfred
I liked it. The Celts won. It was boring to some because the Lakers 1. can't play defense 2. can't play against a good defense. Which is funny because the Cavs and the Hawks seemed to give them a more difficult time than the Lakers.

H-Bomb Henry
NBA Championship It's a shame that Garnett, Kobe and Lebron didn't make at least one attempt at college. I'm really suprised that there is this much interest in the NBA. I've attended one NBA game and will never return. I see more effort exerted in a pick up game with a bunch of washed up high school players.
bobbob1313
Biggest comeback game in post-season history= really boring? Fine. Ok, so one non-boring game washes out some absolutely abysmal play by both teams at times including one team tucking it's tail between it's legs 15 minutes into the elimination game? I generally find the NBA finals to be boring. Not just this one.
benjamin
What made it the worst Finals ever? The games weren't even that close. Sloppiest play I've ever seen on both sides of the court. Bad passes and bad decisions. Horrid shot selection and horrid defense by LA. Not what I would expect from the best teams from the east and west. I did enjoy the defensive play of Boston, but what's up with Boston's point guard not taking wide open shots?
fatheadfred
did enjoy the defensive play of Boston, but what's up with Boston's point guard not taking wide open shots? He can't make em, why shoot em? I seriously hope he overcomes his psycho shooting problems. He missed like 8 of 10 from 4' in game 6, but made up for it in steals, assists, motivation. For 6'1" he has the hand size of a 7'. Maybe that has something to do with it...like shooting a grapefruit to you and I.
