morelikethemoon
I'm trying to figure out if this is just me or not... but sometimes when i listen to SBS all the way through, I feel like its not really an album but rather just a collection of singles. I don't have any problems with the album as a whole, in fact i really do love it. Just on some listen throughs I feel like the album is disjointed and does not flow as well as their other albums. MeDave
wow, i feel the total opposite. while at first walken stood out a bit from the rest of the vibe, even it has settled in to be a part of what i think is one of their smoothest flowing albums to date.
Gobias Industries
I feel this is the smoothest album. Hm.
mpolak21
I feel this is the smoothest album. Hm. Yeah me too, everything fits together pretty well. --Mike
morelikethemoon
hmm.. thats very interesting. i think maybe my initial feeling about the 'collection of singles' is because i (like mostly everyone else) heard each new live song one at a time and because of that got familiar with them individually... rather than not hearing them live and being able to take them in on my first listen as just an album
a.miller
You Are My Face should have been the opener, IMO.

I kind of felt that way at first, but after a few listens it started flowing smoothly for me, so I think you may be onto something about us being introduced to these songs one at a time rather than as a whole. Kalle
I think it flows even better than AGIB.
Sir Stewart
I think it's more of an album than any of their others. I didn't hear many of the songs in live format before hearing the album.
Gobias Industries
You Are My Face should have been the opener, IMO. Either Way would have no place on the album if that happened.
pillowy star
It has exactly the same vibe to me as Summerteeth has: Incredibly perfect flow, everything fitting together.......harshly interrupted by tracks 5 and 6 (intentional?!)......only to go on flowing well afterwards. nosmokeinthelungs
AGIB was a collection of singles. this one flows
Bhickman
Yeah, this one does indeed flow very well. It's actually the band's most complete album thematically. It's closest relative would be Summerteeth. It's really mellow and not as dissonant as their last two were, so I think by taking a sharp right curve, the band has left some scratching their heads here. I think people were all ready to accept something on the level of YHF or AGIB, but this is something sweeter, more "spring-like" and 70s pop than perhaps anyone had expected. It reminds me a lot of the stuff that John and Pat do in The Autumn Defense, quite frankly. There's really no angst to the songwriting or the singing by Jeff, either. Which is another surprise. Chendizzle
Good idea, cause Either Way has no place on the album. Fixed it for ya.
HighFives
AGIB was a collection of singles. this one flows I think AGIB has the best flow. to teach his own I suppose.
Pecan_Pie
It's like buttah!
quarter23cd
AGIB was a collection of singles.I called the record company and they agree with me that they didn't hear any singles on that record.
You Can Be The Stone
I think "Either Way" would have actually fit better after "Leave Me (Like You Found Me)". Thematically, it seems like it gels better with the last three tracks.
WilcoFan
Yes. It is an album in my mind. So much so that I don't even entertain different track sequence what-ifs.
soups
I feel it's about the best put together collection of songs they've come out with yet and it works very cohesively as an album
