caliber66
Why no "In a Future Age"? Are you asking me why I have "In a Future Age" on my list, or why more people don't? If it's the former, the answer is "because I don't like it as much as I like other Wilco songs, to the point that I have placed it in my bottom five." If it's the latter, I don't have an answer for you.
embiggen
Can't Stand It I'm not 100% in love with that song.

snow ships
Why do those who don't like "Christ For President" dislike it? And also, since this is a threat about 'songs', wouldn't that count as a Guthrie song as much as a Wilco one? Is it Jeff's melody you can't stand?

jhh4321
What Light is the only Wilco album track that i have heard and said "this is an absolute piece of shit that has little to no artistic merrit." My thoughts exactly...except for We're Just Friends and It's Just that Simple (Less Than You Think has really grown on me). I used to feel the same way about We're Just Friends but have since then come to love it. Jeff's vocals on that song are killer, at some points he sounds like hes actually about to cry...I dig it. you ever seen a ghost?
1. Heavy Metal Drummer2. Heavy Metal Drummer3.Heavy Metal Drummer4. Late Greats5.Heavy Metal Drummer that's pretty much exactly how i feel. what the fuck was Jeff thinking when he wrote those dumb lyrics anyway (re: HMD)? people seem to love it at shows too... i hate "The Late Greats" slightly less, so this guy is spot on. i really hate it when it comes up on YHF, every other note of which i love with all my heart. i'd much rather listen to the drone on "Less Than You Think." -justin

EDIT: Is there something WRONG with writing a song just for FUN?!? Does every set of lyrics have to have some deep, meaning behind them to make it worthy of listening?!? watchtower41
I'm glad SOMEONE agreed with me on "Jar" Not the worst studio song, but when I hear it live, it just seems to KILL any energy the set has going for it. Whereas the recent convo with "Heavy Metal Drummer" certainly not the best lyrics int he world, nor the best studio song, but live in concert this song can really bring it for an excellend encore choice.... very energetic, summer-esque song, that people can associate with and dance to. Basically all the things you dont really expect at a wilco concert, which may be the reason why it always gets such a great reception at shows.
Edie
See, HMD lyrics are not dumb to me, as I actually did fall in love with a drummer. So there
