...do you find most going thru your head when you're doing other things besides listening to music?!?

Song in general...probably 'Hate It Here' just for the simple fact that I watched the video download almost everyday once it got sent out :D

Lyric for me..."I know you're not listening

Oh, I know you're not listening" :music

Riff...Nels solo in 'Impossible Germany" :rock

"On and On and On" is hands down my favorite song from SBS. part of it is due to a recognized bias because my wife and i grew attached to it before we got hitched.

i keep thinking "Hate It Here" and "Shake It Off" could have been sung more like "Kicking Television" maybe i'm too fixated on my own need to return to punk recently. hmmm....

i read that as "the last time I was in my trunk" and for a second i was incredibly intrigued. :ermm

All of "Hate It Here". I think that's the track that gets stuck in my head the most. Should've had horns on there though.

Lyric: 'The drunks were ricochetin''

"with the sky blue sky, this rotten time..."

the G to Ab diminished chord gets stuck in my head, now that's the first thing I play when I pick up a guitar.

Since I heard "Sky Blue Sky" on Prairie Home Companion, it has been my absolute favorite song on the record, hands down.

Other moments

"my cousin's sister's husband's brother" in "You Are My Face"

the Thin Lizzy-esque guitar harmonies near the end of "Impossible Germany."

then where they all lock together and drive home that melody. Transcendent.

"Windows open and

raaaaining in

Maroon, yellow, blue, gold and gray"

Definitely my favorite track thus far...

But can't shake these lines either:

"Embracing the situation

Is our only chance to be free"

Most recently for me, You Are My Face...these lines especially:

"...Why is there no breeze

No currency of leaves

No current through the water wire

No feelings I can see

I trust no emotion

I believe in locomotion..."

and

"Happenstance has changed my plans..."

i don't know why these lyrics are sticking with us. i mean, they're all simple and straightforward and very unlike their earlier stuff. yeah that jeff tweedy and co. are going downhill. this album doesn't even belong in the same breath as yhf. ;)
