W(TF)
will take about five years to really "get" Five years? Seems a bit excessive. Or are you just saying it's ahead of its' time, for general consumption...? Coltrane, Mahler...maybe. Wilco, nope, maybe weeks but not months or years. (see my sig)
acwall
...that once i get to the last song is so great it forces me to begin it again. ...has the most soothing intro to an album ever.
trestle
cares the least of all Wilco albums what you think of it yes. sbs......came out when i started studying for the series 7 exam (general securites rep). i'm not going to be acting as a consultant, but because i am a client-facing employee my company has decided to make it a condition of employment for everyone in my role. i have a lot of test anxiety and it's been a particularly rough year all around for me, so this thing has been hanging over me like the sword of damocles. as a single mother with a child just graduating and heading off to college i'm experiencing a lot of pressure to keep it together.the album has been the perfect background for dealing with the uncertainty i'm facing. i get 2 tries at passing it before i lose my job. the idea that it's "okay not to know what's going to happen" has been a stretch for me to grasp but i'm finding it somehow liberating as i tuck it in a corner of my brain while studying. i took the exam for the first time today and failed by 2 points. talk about high anxiety. listening to "either way" on the drive there was a good distraction though.i'm going back to the drawing board and i'm going to reward myself when i pass this thing.....with tickets to the next wilco concert that will fit into my schedule- even if i have to fly there!
