Szabo
since when has a multi-night run been called a 'residency' I think 4 or more shows is called a Residency. Shellac is doing one, Smashing Pumpkins have been doing them, the Allman Bro's have been doing them for years...
ZenLunatic
I think the most amazing part of it is that they are playing the complete recording catalog. Also at the Vic, nice small venue for Wilco.
Jimmy Coulas
I am planning on hitting all 5 shows!!!!
aricandover
I think the most amazing part of it is that they are playing the complete recording catalog. Also at the Vic, nice small venue for Wilco. it's at the Riviera, not the Vic.
ZenLunatic
it's at the Riviera, not the Vic. Ohh, still small. Riv is cool. Tweedy is playing Vic in Jan.

Maddie Hope
I could see doing all 5. If I had the time, plane fair, hotel, babysitter, vacation time, and extra cash for tix after the Holidays. Looks to be a great week. I'm sure it'll be a treat for all in attendance.I secord this... Wish so much I could make this... what fun it would be... but I will entertain the idea of going to Chi town
gogo
The internal rationalizing has already begun... I know! I'm off work on Friday the 15th, so I fly in on the Thursday night red-eye, to be there for the first two shows. Then I fly home on the 6:00am flight Sunday, to be back for my nephew's 9th birthday, then back on the Sunday night red-eye. Monday is President's Day, so I'm off work, I take two vacation days for Tuesday and Wednesday, then fly home again 6:00am to be back at my desk by 9:00am Thursday. Totally do-able! Edie
I was listening to the radio (XRT natch) this morning when it was announced -- I almost drove off the road I think my husband is going to divorce me -- so I will do a pre-emptive suggested "xmas present" that he can give me -- not bitch about me going to all five And FWIW, I think a "residency" implies different material each night vs. a run of shows in the same location with the same/similar material. jenbobblehead
i think residency implies setting up shop to do work for a certain amount of time. Ie., artist in residence. I hope this isn't a precursor to an announcement that this is it, that they're all going their separate ways.
