uwmryan
besides a track or two, this one isn't doing much for me at all compared to The Warning Only through twice - a lot of these songs were played at Bonnaroo last summer when I saw them, so it's nice to hear them again. The Warning is a pretty high benchmark - too early to tell for me.
solace
it's just chock full of slow ballads... not exactly what i want to hear from them (Colours excluded, that song rules) i only felt like just over 1/2 of The Warning was great, but the great songs were truly great, so far this has maybe 2 songs that can compare to those. Welsh Rich
Nope, not at all... I'll have a listen, cheers. In the meantime:
lizish
Nope, not at all... I'll have a listen, cheers. I'd recommend him then. He's been around for about a decade releasing good cds every 3-4 years. If you need more, Pok and I (and a number of other list members) are pretty big fans. He's turned his own label, hardwood records into a bit of an indie success releasing Cuff the Duke and Basia Bulat in Canandaigua Seeing him next Sunday so want to become a bit more familiar with his new stuff. lizish
Buckner - Since This feels like the start of a long long Buckner kick Ten years now since the lights went downI was coming out from the secret suiteThe name was fame but her spark was fineHer shadow left to follow me From the poor oil changer that fades awayA message from a diamond and she's smoking hotHe thought he had a handle but the load went downBusted up found and broken outIn the dim chalky light Another half damn moon I lost, turned, packed, and I knock into a rollerWith a note and the newsThe showboat motel casper nightThe river's high and losingI'll watch your flaming figure flyAnd burn on out at the ruinsThis fellow belts out a warning Of some Spanish house I'd knownCut to boneQuick to the cue
Littlebear
"I didn't like that sleeve. I wanted the cover to be black and strong like the sound of the LP, instead all of those fancy colours. I was starting to let things go and accepting things that I shouldn't have." (Ray Davies) "The album, on the other hand, is perfect." (Me)
