bleedorange
Just saw this on EW.com this morning: Bob Dylan, Wilco on Heroes Soundtrack So I guess "Glad It's Over" will see the light of day somewhere. The soundtrack also has The New Pornographers, My Morning Jacket, Jesus and Mary Chain, and others.

RainDogToo
You know...i read somewhere it is an unrealeased song that I think was rumored to be on Sky Blue Sky at one point I know, sorry about that. The page froze and I was frustrated so I clicked the post button like 20 times! I didn't think it would actually post that many times. From Harp magazine: January 20, 2007 Wilco has been ensconced in its Chicago studio The Loft polishing off its next studio album, slated for a May 15th release on Nonesuch. To be titled Sky Blue Sky, it’s the follow-up to 2004’s Grammy-winning A Ghost is Born—in between came 2005’s concert set Kicking Television—and the first collection of Wilco material that finds all the members of the touring band in the recording studio together. Sky Blue Sky is self-produced by Wilco and mixed by longtime associate Jim O’Rourke. At presstime there are reportedly over 18 songs on deck from which the band will make a final track selection, among them "Shake It Off," "Side with the Seeds," "Glad It's Over," "Either Way" and "Walken." Last year the band had been performing a number of new songs in concert as well, some of which may surface on the record. They include “Let's Not Get Carried Away,” “What Light,” “Impossible Germany,” “On and On and On,” “Lullaby For Rafter and Beams,” “Patient With Me,” “Let's Fight,” “Is That the Thanks I Get?” and “Maybe the Sun Will Shine.”
kimcatch22
I don't even remember there being music like this in the episodes. I must have been lost in Peter's hair flips.
bigshoulders
I don't even remember there being music like this in the episodes. I must have been lost in Peter's hair flips.Me neither. Weird. Could it be "Music Inspired by the Television Series" or something to that effect? -k
kimcatch22
Me neither. Weird. Could it be "Music Inspired by the Television Series" or something to that effect? -kOr "We're Trying to Squeeze Some Money Out of This Show Between Seasons."I'm not familiar with TV soundtracks other than the ones from The OC, and that show had 3-6 songs in each episode so the track listings made sense. Maybe this is how they usually work, I don't know. I just know there is no "Music From Lost" and even if there were, I'd stay far away.
So Long
nice, I've never heard of the song, but can't wait for it!

Doug C
It's great that the song is getting released. As soundtracks albums go, this looks to be one of the better ones.
Gobias Industries
What the fuck?!? I wrote a song called Glad It's Over too! Except probably later... Good news though, always good to hear the little dudes see the light of day.

I could definitely do without the Panic at the Disco song, though. Fortunately, all my CD and mp3 players have a functioning skip button.
you ever seen a ghost?
i see that it also includes a rare My Morning Jacket track called "Chills," which is available as a B-side. -justin

virtualreason
^^ That was a Jeopardy before and after question. I laughed heartily. Add one more song to the Wilco 2009 Spring/Summer/Fall (NOT WINTER) Residency.
Analogman
Some more information - from billboard.com: Wilco, Panic, Bowie Set For 'Heroes' SoundtrackWilcoFebruary 28, 2008, 1:45 PM ET Kimberly Nordyke, The Hollywood Reporter "Heroes" might be on hiatus, but fans can get their fix of NBC's superhero drama with the release next month of its first original soundtrack and accompanying music videos. The NBC Universal Television, DVD, Music & Consumer Products Group has set a March 18 release for the album, which will feature exclusive new singles from artists including Wilco ("Glad It's Over"), Panic At The Disco ("Nine in the Afternoon"), Imogen Heap ("Not Now But Soon") and Brighton Port Authority featuring Iggy Pop ("He's Frank"), as well as classic tracks from Bob Dylan ("Man in the Long Black Coat") and David Bowie ("Heroes," as one might have guessed). It also will include the "Heroes" theme and three other songs by former Prince collaborators Wendy & Lisa as well as Jesus and Mary Chain's first new studio recording ("All Things Must Pass") in a decade. In addition, "Heroes" executive producer/director Allan Arkush has crafted five music video montage podcasts -- featuring "Heroes" footage set to select tracks from the album -- that will be exclusively available for free download on the Zune Marketplace online store and for streaming at MSN. Nada Surf's "Weightless" will be the first available, starting Feb. 29. The soundtrack, being released through NBC Records, will be available in CD format at Best Buy stores and digitally at Zune and other digital service providers. It is executive produced by music industry veteran Errol Kolosine in collaboration with "Heroes" creator/executive producer Tim Kring and Arkush. Arkush said he and Kring are big music fans and worked with Kolosine to get some of their favorites on the album. They also sought songs that would fit with the show's story lines, characters and sensibility, working especially closely with a few artists, like Heap, to come up with appropriate songs. "We started talking about including music that inspired us -- not just music that had been on the show but that really connected with the 'Heroes' head space," Arkush said. As for Dylan, Arkush said that "in general, his people are very choosy" in terms of licensing rights to his songs. But Arkush and Kring had a relationship with the singer through their use of some of his songs on their previous series, "Crossing Jordan." Arkush said that somewhere between a third and half of the soundtrack's 18 songs have already been featured on the show. Meanwhile, the five videos will be centered around various themes pertinent to each song. For example, "Weightless" will feature footage of the characters who can fly as well as those experiencing the "weightlessness of real emotions," while Dylan's "Man" will center on the evil Sylar (Zachary Quinto). Here is the "Heroes" soundtrack track list: "Heroes Title," Wendy & Lisa"Fire and Regeneration," Wendy & Lisa"He's Frank," Brighton Port Authority featuring Iggy Pop"All for Swinging You Around," New Pornographers"Glad It's Over," Wilco"Weightless," Nada Surf"Nine in the Afternoon," Panic at the Disco"Chills," My Morning Jacket"Natural Selectio," Wendy & Lisa"ABoneCroneDrone 3," Shelia Chandra"Not Now but Soon," Imogen Heap"Jealously Rides With Me," Death Cab for Cutie"All Things Must Pass," The Jesus and Mary Chain"Homecoming," Wendy & Lisa"Man in the Long Black Coat," Bob Dylan"Maya's Theme," Yerba Buena"Keeping My Composure," The Chemical Brothers featuring Spank Rock"Heroes," David Bowie
