solace
Janet was amazing to watch last night (as always), but Stephen and the band were pretty damn lethargic to the point of boring at times. a lot of the jams never really went anywhere. someone i know said it best "it sounds like they're gonna break into 'Sweet Melissa' on every song" . Stephen also seemed pretty drunk too. the crowd's lack of energy didn't exactly help either
tangara
Aw. That's disappointing to hear. I hope they bring it tonight! What was the setlist like?
Dr. Steve Brule
I am a little worried about this alleged winter storm if they're coming from Milwaukee. It's only a few hours drive so, so I guess they could make it tomorrow once it stops. Half the time forecasts are wrong though.
Sandoz
janet was definitely the highlight of the show here in portland. home town show even!
aricandover
I hope they make it here, and I hope the snow isn't bad enough to keep us away.
Leo
No snow here in Detroit YET. Driving over in about 30 mins. Snow there yet?
aricandover
No snow here in Detroit YET. Driving over in about 30 mins. Snow there yet? a little, mixed with rain, so watch out for slick spots.
tangara
Fantastic show last night. They blazed through most of the new record and it sounded phenomenal. Stephen was a little sloppy at times, but his energy more than made up for it. And Janet...well, she's a goddess. So looking forward to the show tonight! I was going to have to skip it, but it looks like the snow will keep me in town. I hope they drove from Milwaukee last night - it was dry and clear the whole way. Boots
How has Vanderslice been? I've been listening to his last two records over the past week or two when I saw he was the opener, and I've really started to enjoy them. Playing with a band or solo?
tangara
With a band - drummer and keyboard player. I thought he was just okay.

Panther
seriously, We Cant Help You is The Weight, God bless SM for making fun of indie culture and refusing to make a high hat post punk BS record that would have made Pfork zombies happy.
bigideas
did anyone buy the Cold Son 10"?if i had an indie record store close by i probably would have.i'm wondering how the b-sides are.maybe they'll put them up on that pay now thing. http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news...ecord-store-day
junkiesmile
I saw Malkmus and the Jicks in Austin on Sunday. The music was great. There were some assholes in the crowd, but they were great.
stooka
Call me slow if you wish, but I just got this. I'm diggin' it. How's it holding up for those of you who liked it initially?
quarter23cd
How's it holding up for those of you who liked it initially?Frankly, I forgot I own it. I'll have to go listen to it again and get back to you. Or did I already answer your question?
bigideas
Call me slow if you wish, but I just got this. I'm diggin' it. How's it holding up for those of you who liked it initially? it's not a passing fad record, so i would think it would stay.of course, a lot of music has come out so i don't listen to it as much. i'm wondering why they haven't added anything else to Buy Early Get Now. they added stuff for a while with the New P's release i believe. bigideas
These are now up on buyearlygetnow.com. yes, so cool!i wonder if my e-mails to them had anything to do with it?=) i also asked at the time if there was any way to get that OOP bonus disc that originally came with Pig Lib and they said to check back that it would be available digitally - though i have not checked back. dmait
>OOP bonus disc that originally came with Pig Lib I don't know what "OOP" is, but I think the Pig Lib bonus disc is better than the album itself.
Wendy
OOP = out of print
