Sweet Papa Crimbo
I understand they've "reformed" but without the bassist chick. Which is a little odd, because Todd Lewis had said that without Lisa Umbarger in the band, it wasn't the toadies.
mjpuczko
i saw the toadies open for white zombie in 1995 or 1996. they were fantastic. i need to get their first album again, lost it!
MrRain422
I love both Toadies albums. I actually think I like Hell Below/Stars Above a bit more than Rubberneck. The title track is amazing, and all though it doesn't have as many highlights as Rubberneck, it's a lot more consistent from front to back. I caught them live twice, once opening for RHCP in I think 1996, and then again just before they broke up in 2001.

EL the Famous
i remember the soundtracks to both 'singles' and 'the crow' kind of being snapshots of what 'alternative' music was in the 90's. lord knows that singles soundtrack was on all over the place when i was in college. mjpuczko
another great soundtrack (though the music it eventually spawned sucks) is judgement night.

mjpuczko
I can't believe we made it this far without mentioning "Closing Time" by Semisonic. i fuckin' hate that song with a passion. i saw semisonic in 2001 at this festival in minneapolis. my friend & i were so bored with them after 30 minutes. then an hour into their set we thought they were done & they came back out for 30 more minutes. i was so upset.
