you ever seen a ghost?
i had to order the deluxe edition. sure, i could download the third disc in lossless or something, but being as how i'm a huge Dylan fan (have seen live 10 times, have CD-Rs of 600 bootlegs), i just had to spring for it. that having been said, i love later period Dylan and this looks like a treasure trove. everyone from the Time Out Of Mind sessions says "Red River Shore" was the best song of all of them and is absolutely stunning. -justin
mjpuczko
gotta say, not that excited about the tracklist. there are a few songs i really want to hear but overall it's kind of meh.that being said, i'll still buy it.

Sir Stewart
Mississippi produced by Lanois is worth the price of admission for me.
Kalle
Pre-Ordered the deluxe edition, god I am excited!
MattZ
Mississippi produced by Lanois is worth the price of admission for me. Same for me. Question is whether it is worth the price of admission for the deluxe version. Decisions, decisions.
you ever seen a ghost?
MattZ, i would say yes, because, aside from the other songs, you get a third alternate "Mississippi" and an additional "Red River Shore," which is, supposedly the new "Blind Willie McTell" or what have you...an unreleased masterpiece by all accounts. -justin

owl
For the life of me, I can't figure out how to get the free song. Can someone direct me or send the goddam thing to me?
Sir Stewart
Free song? Eh?
owl
If you look at the main page it says "Free Song... Sign up..." So I did that, and then nothing happened.
TheMaker
Dreamin' of You: http://www.yousendit.com/download/Q01IRkJaY3lGR0ZjR0E9PQ There y' go! I found it a pretty convoluted system just to get one lousy song. The song isn't lousy, though; it's pretty interesting. Basically a vestigial "Standing in the Doorway," but with a slithery Oh Mercy sort of quality. Not as good as anything on TOOM, of course, but an interesting look into Dylan's creative process. Since the previous two installments were really lacklustre, I'm excited about this BS volume. I'm totally psyched that a track from the only Niagara region show Dylan has ever played (unless you count Hamilton, which you really shouldn't) is included in the set. A guy I met at that show hooked me up with an audience recording a few weeks later, but the sound quality is quite poor, even for an outdoor show. It'll be interesting to hear what it sounds like on the official release.
owl
Thanks! And I totally agree with you on your assessment of the last two installments. This one I'm reasonably excited about. Hopefully it will be good.
