Mick S
Last week, Wilco was in Bend, Oregon, home of The Breedlove Guitar Company. While in concert they remarked "We're glad to be back in Bend, home of the best acoustic guitars around!" They say this for two reasons:1) They are really, really nice guitars made by really, really nice people...... and2) they are currently finishing a total of 25 Jeff Tweedy Signature Model Guitars identical to the model he plays on stage. Jeff worked with Breedlove builders to determine woods and the body shape and also lent his artistic eye to help with the inlays on the fingerboard and headstock. The result is a bee-themed pattern that is absolutely gorgeous. Here in our shop in Louisville, KY, we've had people who've never even heard of Wilco fall in love with these guitars - they are truly fantastic. Of the 25 Tweedy models internationally available, we've sold one (the one Jeff Test drove on this tour) and have just received 2 more in stock right now. We just thought Wilco fans like ourselves would want to be aware of such a cool guitar.Check out our pictures here : http://store.stringinstruments.com/pc-1123...ture-model.aspx There's a slide show on the page offering detail photos of one in our shop right now. Thanks and enjoy.MickSteilberg String InstrumentsLouisville, KY502-491-2337www.StringInstruments.com
TemplePilot
At the bargain price of six grand!
cryptique
oooh, purty.
Mick S
actually it's quite a bit less than 6 grand. That's just the retail, which is not what anyone actually pays for stuff like this.
ChooChooCharlie
Looks great. I'm looking for something unique though. Specifically, a guitar that teaches me how to play it. Will pay retail.
W(TF)
I'd sell my sister for that. Well, not really. I'd sell my sister for a Yamaha FZ1. Which isn't a guitar.
Central Scrutinizer
I always wondered what make that guitar was, with the classical guitar headstock, but a conventional neck and steel strings.
Three dollars and 63 cents
I really feel like it's just a matter of time before Fender makes a Jazzmaster for Nels. If they can do a screaming purple J. Mascis model, they can do a Nels model.

junkiesmile
I don't know about "The best acoustic guitars around". Maybe around Bend, Oregon but around my neck of the woods that title is held by Collings Guitars.
Twisted Acres
Do love them Breedloves... I've got two, and they're workhorses.

lalalandstudios
I found this post accidentally while searching something else, and it turns out I'm the guy who bought one of the Tweedy's from Mick at Steilberg Strings. All I can say is that it is a beautiful, unbelievably well made, toneful and soulful acoustic guitar. It sounds great with pick or finger picking. Mine was actually in Jeff's possesion for a good part of the tour this year, and was recently returned to Breedlove when Wilco played in Bend OR. Mick was a pleasure to work with by the way and a real fan. I own (or have owned) vintage Martins, Collings, SCGs, Taylors - and without starting a "my guitar is better than your guitar" war, this guitar is absolutely right there with any of them and every bit as inspiring to play and beautiful to listen to. Its certainly very expensive, but worth every penny of its price.
Golden Smoghead
That's awesome. I love it when good people support good people.
Wendy
Beautiful! Thanks for the close-up view of the inlay.
Gobias Industries
Wow. If only I wasn't a college student with limited income, I would totally get on that...
Halsey12
This is a titch spam like coming from a dealer.

jimthedrummer
I just bought a Breedlove, and it is friggin' awesome... the AD25-SR plus (Musician's Friend is discontinuing them, and the prices are ridiculous).
Lance
Is it long scale? What charity do the proceeds go to?
bigshoulders
This is a titch spam like coming from a dealer. My thoughts exactly. Still, a beautiful instrument, and it looks like it found a good home. Love, love, love that inlay work. b.s.
