tugmoose
Let's postpone two! Hurricane Ike, approaching the Texas coastline and expected to reach land this weekend, has temporarily thrown off the National League Central and wild-card races. The Astros announced Thursday that they have postponed the first two games of this weekend's three-game series against the Chicago Cubs because of the potential impact of Ike on the Houston area. Rescheduled dates for what would have been Friday night and Saturday night games have yet to be determined. Hurricane Ike, currently in the Gulf of Mexico, is projected to be a Category 3 storm when it hits land.

cryptique
A little hurricane humor I found on teh Interwebs: -------------------- Top 10 Reasons Hurricane Season is Like Christmas 10. Decorating the house (boarding up windows) 9. Dragging out boxes that haven't been used since last season (camping gear, flashlights) 8. Last minute shopping in crowded stores 7. Regular TV shows pre-empted for "specials" 6. Family coming to stay with you 5. Family and friends from out-of-state calling 4. Buying food you don't normally buy ... and in large quantities 3. Days off from work 2. Candles ...and the number one reason Hurricane Season is like Christmas... 1. At some point you know you're going to have a tree in your house! -------------------- Major vibes to those in Ike's path.
Good Old Neon
Pending the outcome, I think we can now say, with a reasonable degree of certainty, that one can mess with Texas or maybe even make a mess of Texas.
Duck-Billed Catechist
No one ever said you can't mess with Texas. They said don't. I'd rather the 'canes didn't.
cryptique
No one ever said you can't mess with Texas. They said don't. I'd rather the 'canes didn't.Couldn't we just have Texas play Miami to settle this? Texas would probably win, and the 'Canes would have to go back where they came from.
