uncool2pillow
Understood, I don't disagree with you or anything, just curious to see what your reasons were. GT's offense is fun to watch indeed. It wasn't fun to watch them wax my Clemson Tigers with it, but still.. The opposing defense never knows where the ball is going to be (and neither does the camera man). The Hawkeyes have a great defense. Not sure they're quick enough to stick w/ Penn State. They'll have to be VERY disciplined, and I think they will. They will also have to produce turnovers and maybe even score if the Hawks are to win. I think Iowa can do it, sure hope so. cryptique
OK ... so now Texas Tech have fired Mike Leach. I didn't figure he'd win his injunction to allow him to coach the bowl game, but I can't say that I saw this coming.

OOO
Looks like my coach really is headed to Seattle. I wish him the best of luck in the NFL - It was a good run, and I wouldn't rather have had anyone else be the coach while I was at USC.
bleedorange
I was at the Rose Bowl and got back home late last night. I can say that I have never been prouder to be a Texas fan as I was sitting in the stands and watching that team play and fight back. It was a great performance. Congratulations to Alabama. And I feel so terrible for Colt.

I was at the Michigan-Texas Rose Bowl game in '05 and I still think it is the second best place to watch a football game (after Michigan Stadium, of course).
cryptique
Hell, I live in Ann Arbor, and I'm not sure Michigan Stadium would make my top ten. Of the places I've been to, The Swamp (Florida) is #1.

Greg Matthews caught the game winning TD against ND right in front of me this year. By far the highpoint of the 09 season. I can't wait until the '10 season starts. GO BLUE!!! Beat UCONN!!! That's just an amazing place to see a game, and on an unbiased scale, I think it should be at the top. I would rank it second just behind the Texas-OU game at the Cotton Bowl every year due to the atmosphere that annually surrounds that game, but it's close.
IATTBYB
I can't believe that no one has chimed in on Kiffin's move to SoCal. I guess this shows how fucked up college football is now when a dude who has not had any significant success as a head coach can leave one of the nation's better programs in arguably the best conference after only one year to take over one of the possibly top-5 college head coaching positions and it barely registers with the VC community. Maybe Al Davis was right about Lane after all.

Maybe Al Davis was right about Lane after all. As a USC fan, I've been following it very, very, very closely. Kiffen was an Assistant Coach when I was an undergraduate while we were winning literally every single game, so alumni have a good memory of him at USC...I think the hire could really go either way at this point even though he doesn't have much experience. He's bringing along a super talented staff on both sides of the ball and on recruiting which is similar in style to the old regime, so the feeling is they could be good right away. I think the way Kiffen's staff tried to immediately poach all the Tenn. recruits was lame though. real lame

Maybe Al Davis was right about Lane after all. I think it speaks more to the interest level the VC community has in college football, which is fairly nonexistent. I've been on Will Muschamp watch for the last two days. It looks like he's staying at Texas, but I won't relax until Tennessee hires someone or I hear something a little more official. All I have are sources stating that current Texas recruits have been contacted and told that he is staying.
cryptique
I'm plenty interested in college football, but my discussions of it don't usually take place here. The Kiffin hire is fucked up. Not being a USC fan, I rather hope it blows up in their faces exactly the way the pundits seem to think it will. On the other hand, I do want USC to keep thrashing Notre Dame every year, so... Same here. I'm on the Gamecock Central forum and do most of my discussing there. As for Kiffen, he's been nothing but a douche bag since he came to the SEC so can't say I'm sad to see him go. I can't even stand looking at his face much less hearing him speak.
