Analogman
I know "Centerfold" and thats pretty much it. But I was suggesting that people who had seen "JGB" 30 times were talking about the J. Geil's Band, and not some side project of that Ben and Jerry ice cream flavor guy. You should hear this show:Legion of Mary June 4, 1975 I doubt The J. Geils Band complained too much about their 80s success, it made them rich.

John Smith
I have nto seen them in nearly the numbers that some here have seen bands but the one's I've seen the most are probably WIlco and REM.
NightOfJoy
What is wrong with J Geils...they are great live (so I hear). Their "Full House" album is wunnerful stuff mang.
Analogman
No doubt. "Not kind" was in reference to their legacy. I never really listened to them, the old stuff, or the 80s stuff. I won a radio station trivia contest one time - due to the fact that I knew the name of the famous actress Peter was married to back in the 70s.

tinnitus photography
(7) marc ribot (solo, trio, cubanos postizos, electric masada w/ zorn) insanely jealous. i've only seen him once...i travelled to NYC to see him as part of Electric Masada and it was magical. for unknown reasons he bailed from his opening slot for Fred Frith in boston last december...he never plays this town. MattZ
insanely jealous. Yeah it's funny. I got on a Ribot kick awhile back, and the guy used to play virtually every show I ever went to at a cool club (now deceased) called Tonic. Every time I went there he was either the main act, or opening for the main act (usually Electric Masada or Masada). Seeing him headline with Los Cubanos Postizos there barely missed making my "top 5 concert experiences" in that other thread. The guy is unbelievable. Oh, and then he was a surprise opener (with Zorn) for a Yo La Tengo Hanukkah concert this year. I really can't escape the guy. Not that I am complaining.
