Sir Stewart
As if the continuing shitty weather wasn't awful enough, now it's actually a direct cause of a Red Sox loss. Fuck you rain!
bobbob1313
so it appears that nolasco is back. he looks good for sure. No idea what happened to him this year. Also, why the hell are the red sox complaining about losing a game because of rain? It happens.Has it never rained in Boston before between April and September. I'm sure if they had been up 2-1 they wouldn't be complaining.

parisisstale
Haven't been around much, but glad to see alot of the familiar names. Yankees/Marlins made me think of bobbob. Â Just traded Zach Duke for Cody Ross in my roto keeper crazy rule league. Is Ross gonna keep it up? Â Cano still will win a batting title
bobbob1313
As I read that he hit a homer. Awesome.

bobbob1313
No complaints about going 6-3 against the AL East so far. Let's take 2/3 from a hot Orioles team and we'll be good. 3 games back in the division right now.
Beltmann
 Over the weekend I received one of the coolest birthday presents ever: The Dickson Baseball Dictionary, which is a comprehensive listing of the language of baseball. Sample entry, abridged: Baltimore chop: A batted ball that hits the ground close to home plate and then bounces high in the air, allowing the batter time to reach first base safely. "[bill] Hinchman broke loose with a single that bounded over [Dave] Altizer's head. The revival of the ancient Baltimore chop was appreciated" (The Washington Post, July 20, 1907) First use in print: 1905. "[Joe] Kelley netted a high bouncing bingle in old-fashioned Baltimore chop" (Boston Daily, June 16). Etymology: The term got its name, by all accounts, in the 1890s when the tactic was perfected by Wee Willie Keeler of the old Baltimore Orioles. Two other Baltimore batsmen (John McGraw and Wilbert Robinson) also used it as a method to get on base. Evidence suggests that at the Orioles' field, the dirt near home plate was sun-baked or purposely hardened to make the ball bounce higher. I could read this stuff all day. uncool2pillow
It doesn't seem right that Manny Ramirez is able to play in AAA to prepare for returning to MLB before his 50-game suspension is up. If he needs warm-up let him wait till after he's served his suspension.
bobbob1313
I might go to the game tomorrow or Thursday night to catch Matt Weiters in person (and see if we can manage to hold a lead for once!)
