Stranded on an island with 5, non-wilco cds..

Recommended Posts

The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited

The Clash - London Calling

The Band - Music From Big Pink

The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds

Nothing risqué, you don't want to suddenly hate an album you choose for your stay. But any Beatles album in the Beatles slot would do.

The Beatles - White Album

Tom Ze - Estuando a Samba

Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea

Toots and the Maytalls - Funky Kingston (US)

Hop On Pop - Chicken On a Bicycle (you don't think that I'm gonna leave myself behind, do you?)

Blood on the Tracks, Blonde on Blonde, John Wesley Harding, Highway 61 Revisited, Oh Mercy

There's just so much in the lyrics that you will always be able to turn them over and look at them from a new angle, find something new. It would be the gift that keeps on giving. And speaking of giving, the bastards oughta give him the Nobel already.

Paul Simon - Paul Simon

Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde

Radiohead - KidA

Neutral Milk Hotel - Aeroplane...

Beatles - Abbey Road

this doesn't include the SCORES I'd be able to play start-to-finish (or on shuffle B)) in my head.

Leading me to a sub-question: which albums would you be "bringing with you" in the aforementioned capacity?

most of Wilco catalogue

most of Radiohead "

most of Dave Matthews Band (sadly. I might never play those :lol )

some Bowie

some Lou Reed

alot of White Stripes

ok, this is getting dumb. Anyway, what do you have stored in the old memory bank? I don't want to hi-jack, different thread???

Sadly, I don't like to fly anymore. So I don't really see me being stranded on a desert island. So I'd prefer an emoticon party on this island instead of cds.

Plus, if you're listening to music all the time how will you hear the helicopter sent to rescue you. :thumbup

U2 Achtung Baby

R.E.M. Life's Rich Pageant

Duran Duran Greatest (just for the inspiring Rio video while on a nice island)

Pearl Jam No Code

Elton John Goodbye Yellow Brick Road

Fuck it, if I get rescued it HAS TO BE Duran Duran in their white outfits on the yacht with a bunch of hot chicks.

And yes they need to be singing Rio.

Edit: If that's how Lost ends then it'd be amazing! J.J. Abrams you sly dog you. :D

No problem. It's one of those age old questions that throws me for a loop.

There's no way 5 cds are enough. So I don't bother sweating over it with a certain sense of it will never happen to me.

But somewhere I know i'll find myself on an island.

What's even harder for me would be what 5 DVDs would I bring with me?

We'd get along smashingly, Ghost of Electricity.

This is just how I feel about it right now. Ask me again after lunch and I'll come up with a completely different list.

Scud Mountain Boys - Massachusetts

The Rolling Stones - Exile On Main St.

Spoon - A Series Of Sneaks

The Clash - London Calling

Centro-matic - Fort Recovery
