A good amount of change from the DC show the night before. I didn't notice any environmental distractions (ie: trash bag change out) and the crowd was really great. Dreamer in my Dreams was off the PA, completely acoustic; it sounded fantastic. There were a lot of treats with old Uncle Tupelo songs. I didn't notice any 'oops' in any songs; everything was right on target all night long. Gun was an especially great closure to the evening. Again, I noticed someone in the balcony with a taping set-up. Hopefully they have it online soon.
hellaciousc
Thanks for the setlist! it was a great show. the only 'flub' i noticed was during "Gun".he messed up the 2nd or so verse, and gave a smile and kept singing. the crowd was pretty good overall. a lady a couple rows in front of me was totally obnoxious and kept standing and cheering and clapping inappropriately, and was constantly trying to talk to jeff during the first 6 or so songs.a guy behind her asked her to stop, and she apparently got upset and left. thank goodness! highlights for me were "Gun" and "Key to My Heart". I saw Farrar play "Key to My Heart" last year. It was pretty surreal to see it tonight.I loved it.
bböp
I have no comments. (Except that the final two numbers of the evening were great! )
Albert Tatlock
God (John Lennon cover, with The Autumn Defense)Wow. Would have loved to have seen that. Hope he changed a line: "... just believe in me, Wilco and me, that's reality" which fits nicely
Nobody Girl
Not much surprises me, but I was definitely shocked to hear Give Back the Key to My Heart. The whole setlist was amazing. And I'm still laughing about the segue story. And the "times are tough all over" line after someone said the show was the best Christmas present. There was so much hilarious banter at these shows. a lady a couple rows in front of me was totally obnoxious and kept standing and cheering and clapping inappropriately, and was constantly trying to talk to jeff during the first 6 or so songs.a guy behind her asked her to stop, and she apparently got upset and left. thank goodness!I was in the row behind her. That was ridiculous. At one point she flipped off the guy behind her, but it wasn't just a quick flash; she actually held her hand up for like half a minute. I felt kinda bad for the guy she was with. He was simultaneously trying to defend her while trying to get her to settle down. the only 'flub' i noticed was during "Gun".he messed up the 2nd or so verse, and gave a smile and kept singing.I think there was another one, but I can't remember what it was (drove home to Delaware after the show, so my brain is fried). chriscolbert
I think there was another one, but I can't remember what it was (drove home to Delaware after the show, so my brain is fried). The only other one I remember was Passenger Side where he just didn't start the last verse at the right time. Wow. Would have loved to have seen that. Hope he changed a line: "... just believe in me, Wilco and me, that's reality" which fits nicely He did exactly that!
remphish1
WOW 3 Tupelo songs in 1 show..Figures as it was the show I was not at..You guys are lucky and I am jealous! On a side note Tarrytown NY gets 17 songs VA gets 23? Wonder what was different between the 2?
yohansen5b
He did exactly that! and it got a huge response from the audience. great show-ender.

I thought the Tarrytown show was too short. I really wanted to hear him do You Are Not Alone. It seems he played it at all the shows but Tarrytown

Charlottesville is just an amazing place to see a show and I think it's clear Jeff is fond of it given his multiple visits (as well as Wilco).
nurfherder
I had a great night. There didn't seem to be much audience participation from where I was. Almost everyone around me was very quiet, though I was singing along. The crowd seemed a bit off, to me. The setlist was great and included some unexpected songs. Jeff loves Charlottesville is the best explanation His last show at the Paramount was nice & long and the 2 Wilco shows at the Pavilion are 2 of the longest I have seen. The crowd was most respectful, and very into the show. A good crowd more often than not will get rewarded!

Coltrane
The whole show was great, but I can't describe how amazing the cover of "God" was. Sincerely one of my all time highlights seeing anyone play anything live.
bigshoulders
I was floored with the unplugged "Dreamer in My Dreams". That's been the one song that I've been lobbying for on the Wilco request portion of the board. It was awesome to hear this sans PA. Thanks in advance for your efforts, CBD! This will be one show that I'll want to relive over and over again.
paco
Can't wait to hear the recordings of this one. There wasn't a single down moment in the show.

brush
Thanks for the setlist!a guy behind her asked her to stop, and she apparently got upset and left. thank goodness! I was the unfortunate guy who spoke to the girl. She wouldn't stop talking, after Jeff made the "Awesome" vs "Shut up" comment, I tapped her on the shoulder and mentioned to her that Jeff told her to shut up. She went ballistic on me, her boyfriend started to pick a fight with me, slapped my knee, she gave me the finger for 1/2 a song, then asked me how I liked the show. I told her that I'd like it a lot better if she would settle down. She stormed off for the 2nd half of the set. Then reappeared towards the end of the John Lennon song "god". I didn't want a confrontation, so I left as soon as the song was over. She looked completely manic. I felt sorry for Jeff, having to put up with her annoying banter. A bunch of people thanked me for talking to her, during the show and while I was running out!

Since 2000 Jeff has played 4 solo shows NYC. I don't get it... Even so, NYC-area wilco shows have been great. The two shows at the Wellmont in April were fantastic, and the show at Dutchess stadium summer of 2009 remains one of my favorite all time concerts to date. Tarrytown was a far shorter set than the Bowery, so that makes me think it was a venue request to have the show shortened.

I've seen plenty of good shows in the New York area, both Wilco and Jeff solo. One of my favorite shows was at The Chance in Poughkeepsie just after A Ghost is Born was released. It was a very small theater and the show was amazing. The Tarrytown show was just too short, but I'm sure Jeff still loves us in NY.
