hey Knotgreen, nice to meet you last night, thanks for coming up and saying hello.

I got totally screwed when the stage hands put that keyboard stand w/ blanket right in front of me before Sharon played.

Hey, nice meeting you as well. I figured as much... I don't know that the "drug rug" served any purpose but blocking someone's view!

Did you stick around for the entire show? Thoughts? Hope you found a good vantage point... I'd imagine she's not a difficult one to photograph :love

See you in Newport, I'm sure

i left around 11ish or so...i slid over to the right for ~30 seconds, then went upstairs and took some shots from the stairs and the center balcony. squeezed my way back down stairs and it was jammed...couldn't really find a place to see much of anything so i left. sounded good, though!

I had a great live music weekend.  Thursday night, I drove down to Bloomington, IL  and saw Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit at the Castle Theater and last night I saw Richard Thompson and his Electric Trio at Space in Evanston.  Two great shows.

Saw Giving Tree last nite at the Randolph St fest. They did an hour long set that with ended with an a cappella version of Townes Van Zants "Two Hands". Effing awesome. They have definitely recovered nicely from the loss of the fiddle and pedal steel guys. They are playing the Summer Solstice fest out in beautiful Yorkville IL next Friday nite, their set starts at 10:30pm. Its free and its a nice lil' fest.

Courtney Barnett is pretty good.

Live you mean?  I'm kind of tempted to see her when she rolls around.  The little I have heard has been catchy and clever as hell.

They're Olsonless, so that's tempering my expectations, apparently focusing on the 1997-2004 Olsonless records.  Rainy Day Music is the only one of those I really know well.  Hopefully they'll pull out a few from Tomorrow the Green Grass and Hollywood Town Hall.

Yeah I am aware they are Olsonless however Sound Of Lies, Smile and Rainy Day were strong outputs. I don't believe there will be too many other songs in the set as they are plugging the re-release of these albums but hope you enjoy the show! Please report back!

A great show.  Mostly stuff from Smile, Sound of Lies, and Rainy Day Music, but a few off Hollywood Town Hall and Tomorrow the Green Grass.  A Jayhawks show without "Blue" would've left me unsatisfied.  They played it.

I didn't realize how well Louris could shred on guitar.  He really cranked it up a few times.  They played Golden Smog's "If I Only Had a Car" in the encore.  One a weird note, I was distracted a bit by Kraig Johnson's resemblance to Rob Thomas.  Kind of creepy.

Back on topic, John Hiatt tonight.

Thanks for the review! Louris is a great guitar player did he take out the Flying V?
