NoJ
LIVE! TOMMOROW! AND THE NEXT DAY! Giving Tree Band is playing a free fest known as VeggieFest on Saturday and Sunday in Naperhell. They hit the stage at noon on both days. Its a nice lil fest, especially if you dig the vegetarian fare. I'm planning my schedule accordingly.

Think we are gonna head to this on Sunday and catch the show, since this may be the closet place to the southern burbs as there going to get.If you see guy in a yellow shirt with two kids and wife walking around that will me. Being mostly a vegetarian, looking forward to the food offerings. Haven't been to Naperville in ages.
NoJ
Sounds good Calvino. Although, if I may make a suggestion....by going on Saturday you'll be giving yourself the option to return on Sunday which you're gonna want to do after seeing GTB live ;-) If I do see you, I'll be sure to shake your hand. NoJ
Hey Calvino, not sure if you made it or not. I did talk to one guy on Sunday wearing a yellow shirt, sitting with his wife n kids but it wasn't you. Turned out the guy was kind of a jerk. Anyhow, the GTB shows were good, hope you were able to catch one of them.

Yeah we made it there --- I was by the stage area (towards the back) from the start up to the point where they played Squeeze Box, then we all went to the park area and kid's tent. It was entertaining - it looked like the guy who played electric guitar in the Brown Eye video (and played some great licks) was playing bass, yesterday. I was hoping for some of that guitar playing --- but I guess it being a festival they went all acoustic (with the exception of the bass). Food was good, too.
NoJ
Believe it or not, I've never seen that video but I bet you are referring to Phil the Fiddler, who left the band in January. He did have some wicked chops. I sorely miss him. I was talking to Todd the banjo player before the show, they are keeping the shows acoustic (and simple) until they have more new tunes worked out. They've been in the studio a lot lately and expect a new album for release early in '15. It appears there's gonna be more electric guitar in their future. I hope you saw them do "Live Love". With a bit of luck, that tune is going to break them wide open. You missed the encore? Oh man, they finished with Townes Van Zants version of "Two Hands", mostly a capella. So sweet.
