moxiebean
Police -probably due more to radio-induced listening fatigue than anything else. The White Stripes - A one-trick pony. Loved the first two albums at the time; haven't listened to either in years (same for Flat Duo Jets) Most of the stuff I listened to as a teenager before discovering punk rock (Kansas, Skynyrd, Styx, etc.) - I still love ELO, though. bleedorange
I really can't think of any artist I used to like that I can't listen to now. Even in my country days when I listened heavily to Garth Brooks, Clint Black, Hal Ketchum, etc., I can still go back and enjoy those albums. Also, I was never a huge Police fan (a little before my prime listening time), but how can Sting's solo career affect the music that he made when he was with the Police? If a song or album is good, how does a a song made years later change that?

And the fact that I have come to associate that sound with such dreck for so many years now really does color the music that he made with The Police.
mpolak21
A lot of the contemporary indie bands who were big in the 2000-2004 period haven't aged all that well for me. I still love Broken Social Scene, New Pornos and Ted Leo, but I haven't found myself compelled to pick up those Bright Eyes records in quite sometime. I think The Smiths would also qualify. It isn't really that I think their music isn't any good, it's just that band is so grounded in my awkward teenage phase that I don't find it very pleasant to revisit. --Mike
Lammycat
Oh man I hadn't listened to the Police in a long while and went back to their early stuff not long ago and they were still great. Fuck Sting, but he was awesome in theat band. I can no longer listen to Tiny Tim, though.

Shug
I always get a little sad for the folks who don't like music they used to love because of hearing it too much (usually on the radio). I understand that if you listen to radio alot you hear the same stuff too much. That's why I stopped actively listening to radio sometime in junior high. I learned alot about what they now call classic rock (which I just think of as good rock) from a couple good San Diego radio stations in the late 70s and early 80s, but once I figured out what I liked, I pretty much started building my record collection and only listened to my records and tapes. I never got burned out on any of the music I loved and I feel lucky for that. The stuff I don't like anymore other than in a nostalgic way that I used to love has to do with my changing tastes, not burnout. U2RushREM I, too, find it shocking that any Led Zep fan could not like listening to them anymore for any reason other than burnout. My top favorite bands have always been (and probably always will be) Beatles, Led Zep, Dylan, Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead (ok I did have to put them on hold for quite a few years due to over-listening, but I'm back to them again now), & Tom Petty and I've never got tired of listening to them, for the most part. Winston Legthigh
When I was a kid, Kiss was my favorite band. I can't remember the last time I played anything by Kiss. Although I am always humming "Deuce" when I take my pug out for his nightly dump. Do it!!!! Baby if you're feelin good... Baby if you're feelin nice! You know your man is workin hard, he's worth a deuce!

spongebob
Phish. I used to love them...I just don't put them in the player anymore. Not a knock on the band. They just didn't age well with me.

brianjeremy
Thought of another one...Of Montreal Satanic Panic through Hissing Fauna is still pretty good to my ears, on occasion. However, the albums before and after those records are so terrible. The early stuff is cringe-inducing crap, which the band freely admits and the new stuff is so far outta my interests, Surprised no one has mentioned Weezer yet. I still have hope for them - with each new album, they suck less and less...but it's still not good yet.

Wild Frank
I would have to agree with 'Yes'. I used to listen to a lot of their stuff but it really leaves me cold these days. I actually put on the ABWH record recently and it was so much worse than I remembered it to be. I think alot of prog rock/prog metal bands don't do it for me anymore. I used to love Yes, Iron Maiden, Queensryche etc but listening back I just can't love it like I used to. Maybe you grow out of the epic pomp of the music as you get older, I don't know. Vacant Horizon
Yep, Yes was a band i hated and then liked. recently, i decided i don't like them. i can see how and why punk was necessary. it's exhausting listening to those 20 min. tunes. the production does not hold up either, especially now when producers have figured out that drums don't have to be reverbed to hell....see Glenn Kotche:)
PopTodd
Eric ClaptonUsed to be my all-time favorite. Now I cannot listen to a single thing by him, with the exception of Layla & Other Assorted Love Songs.

ih8music
This one surprised me, but Sugar. I used to love them in the 90's, but I recently put in FUEL and was shocked at how little I enjoyed it. Maybe it's the production style or that it just represents a weird time of my life that I don't like reliving (or maybe I was just in a grumpy mood)... but yeah, no bueno. I'll give 'em another try in a few months, I suppose.

Plumplechook
Pavement. Used to love them but listened to a couple of their albums recently and they had lost all their charm for me. The slacker-inflected vocals and shambling intros which I used to enjoy now sound annoying. Of-their-time for me I guess.
