Geez...Billy Bean is really rolling the dice this year.

If the A's don't win it all...

Crow - seems like you were right to "panic" about the Rangers in the beginning of this year.

It was a perfect storm.

Slicing off some much offensive power since 2012 (Hamilton, Cruz, Young, Murphy, Kinsler, Napoli) and hoping to replace those numbers with Fielder, Profar and Choo was insane.

When Holland hurt his knee playing hockey...I mean tripping over his dog, the handwriting was on the wall.

And Losing Perez, Harrison and Fielder within weeks of each other was the last nail in the coffin.

I don't know if this team will be able to compete for several years.

Profar is still iffy (a severe shoulder injury for an unproven player)

Perez will take a year and half to recover from TJ surgery

Harrison's career could possibly be over

Holland was a wild card to begin with.

Fielder...how much did his neck lead to his declining numbers his years in Detroit?

This lineup has been wracked with injuries. The Rangers are approaching the record for number of players used in a season.

Seeing what Billy Bean has been able to do with his trades this year shows just how bad the last two year's trade deadline deals were for Daniels.\

If Cruz had just gone into the wall to catch that fucking fly ball in game 6...

Was AJ Pierzynski that much of 'clubhouse cancer' or was that blown out of proportion? Did Lackey get along with AJ - hopefully they did, looks like he will be catching Lackey again.

From what I hear/read, it was both.  It sounds like he didn't change much from who he has been his whole career.  And when the team is winning and Pierzynski is hitting, it's easier to put up with it.  But neither of those things were happening so the team decided to see what Christian Vazquez can do.

Profar is 21 years old. I've never seen a fan base give up so easily on a young player than a lot of Rangers fans have.

I am hardly giving up on him...he is just an extremely questionable piece to the puzzle. Outside of his bit of a power burst he exhibited in Arizona this spring, I'm not entirely sold on him as a key offensive piece.

The Rangers have a logjam at middle infielder (Odor is playing pretty damn well for a 20 year old). If there is ANY question about Profar, he will lose the job that was handed to him.

Just remember one thing...JOEY GALLO IS COMING.

I gotta say this thread has been a real disappointment this season.

Let's pick up the slack next year...

The Royals are pretty darn impressive. I think I have found my team to root for in these playoffs.

And a freaking three game sweep to boot

I love the Royals.  Kauffman Stadium is one of my favorite places to see a game.  Very unassuming stadium, with a lot going for it.

I also like the O's too.  It is going to be hard to root against one of those teams.  I guess I'll just root for some good baseball.

I have been kind of out of baseball the last several years, but I gotta say I'm pretty excited about the Royals.  I was born in KC and was a HUGE Royals fan growing up...  George Brett is my all time favorite player and I've always said there's never been a better hitter.

Go Royals!  Hope they go all the way..

Doing some celebrating tonight as my hometown Kansas City Royals are headed back to the World Series! I drove around for 20 minutes or so after I left the office today to finish the game on the radio (had the mlb.com game tracker on all afternoon at work) and cried some happy tears after the last out. Last time this happened I was a little boy.

Man oh man I still cant' believe it.  The freaking ROYALS are going to the World Series..  Sure wish my grandpa (who took me to several games when I was a kid) was still alive to see it..

I am sure my kids will say the same thing about me when the Cubs go to the World Series (I am 39 BTW).

When the Cubs finally go to the World Series, it will no longer be called Baseball, it will be called "Blorgball"..  The crowd will be in "hover seats", and the players will be holograms of long-deceased hall of famers...

So the World Series starts tonight.  The momentum from the great games in the NLCS and ALCS has waned since it has been almost a week.  But I am looking forward to some good games.

I think it will be KC in 6.  A pitcher dominated low scoring series.

Also probably one of the lowest rated (TV wise) World Series in a long time.
