KevinG
I think the ratings will be decent, actually. KC is a fun team to watch and a ,ot of baseball fans are pulling for them. I actually hope so, but with the long wait between the Championship Series and the World Series and the fact it has not been hyped as much as years in the past, I don't see it. But of course I will be watching.
NoJ
Its October 21st, shouldn't the baseball season be over by now? It feels like it should.
lamradio
Well that wasn't pretty... Oh well, still a lot of baseball left..
choo-choo-charlie
Chalk it up to nerves and the enormous weight of a 29-year absence from the series. As Wilco said, shake it off.
Lammycat
Its October 21st, shouldn't the baseball season be over by now? It feels like it should. What are you even doing in this thread? This has nothing to do with with any ethnic foods people had for lunch, you know.
KevinG
Anyone catch that guy in the bright orange Marlins jacket sitting in the front row right behind home plate? You sir are a discredit to all Marlins and baseball fans everywhere.
calvino
Bumgarner pitched a hell of of game --- gut check for KC to see how they rebound after their first lost in the playoffs. I always have been a fan of Peavy -- hopefully he goes deep into the game and gets a no decision, with KC coming out on top.
Chez
Once I noticed that guy in the front row wearing the Marlins gear (and he was hard to miss), I couldn't stop watching him!! He kind of ruined the broadcast for me -- especially when he turned his visor to the side.
lamradio
Yeah I heard that Marlins dude was there for the ALCS too.
KevinG
Yeah I heard that Marlins dude was there for the ALCS too. You know I am all for being a super fan and showing your Team Pride, but he stuck out like a sore thumb and I am sure there are a million Royal dudes who would have killed for that ticket. Lammycat
Why do Marlins fans even need jackets? That's the question that's been troubling me....
lamradio
Lammied. And now we got a series.. I didn't get to watch the game, but looks like the Royals bounced back nicely.
choo-choo-charlie
This was the team that's been storming the playoffs. We got a series, for sure. Into the lion's den we go...
The Inside of Outside
There is definitely something to be said for teams like the Royals who make it to the WS after a long hiatus. Maybe there is hope for the Mariners, Nationals, Brewers, Cubs, etc. Imagine how crazy people will get when the Cubs get back to the WS. OK, if they get back....
uncool2pillow
The Cubs would present a whole different (great, but different) vibe because of the history, Wrigley, big market.
dagwave
awww man, i just saw the news of Oscar Taveras' and girlfriends passing - thats a terrible tragedy. in my prayers.
lamradio
That Bumgarner is practically unhittable. It's almost unfair.. Glad that he won't be back for the rest of the series though.. Although he could be back in a relief role in game 7....
calvino
If there is one (and I think there will be one) - I can see Bumgarner wanting to start Game 7 - not sure if Bochy will allow it, though. Was Jack Morris the last one to start in three World Series games?
uncool2pillow
I think Baaumgarner srarts game 7. He's got all winter to rest and if he doesn't people will always second guess if the Royals win.
Chez
I've been rooting for the Royals (their fans have suffered much longer than Giants' fans), but it will be hard for me to root against Jake Peavy tonight. Not sure I can!!
KevinG
I've been rooting for the Royals (their fans have suffered much longer than Giants' fans), but it will be hard for me to root against Jake Peavy tonight. Not sure I can!! By that logic I expect to see you in Cubbie Blue at the start of 2015 season. For the first time in years, I am actually rooting for a team rather than against a team. A bit refreshing. Let's hope the home field advantage comes in to play. Kaufman field is a great place to see a game.
Lammycat
The head custodian at my school switched from rooting for KC to SF during this series because the Royals are "too cocky". He may be on to something.
Chez
KevinG: That will never happen!! I'm a White Sox season ticket holder.
calvino
According the below Bumgarner could even be available for tonight's game. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/99865360/san-francisco-giants-pitcher-madison-bumgarner-could-be-available-out-of-bullpen The below is incredible. Over his career, Bumgarner is 4-0 with a 0.29 ERA in the World Series.
