I've not listened to a new song since November...I'm banning myself. But from the handful of times I listened, Side With the Seeds might be my favorite...and the one that sounded the most "soulful", as Jeff has said the new album might sound like. And I, too, am a fan of Let's Fight.

Oh, way to go....now there's going to be 57 threads on how sucky On & On & On is and how it shouldn't be on the new album. (I happen to like On & On & On quite a bit......and the webcast was FANTASTIC. Thanks Mr. Tweedy!!)

I got it to work after shutting down Wilcoworld.net and re-opening. Sweet. "She's A Jar" F-in' TRIPLE sweet!!!

I got nothing. I don't even see an image to click on on Wilcoworld's homepage. Is it 'cause I'm on a mac?

I think your re-imagined AGIB is pretty good. I like AGIB a lot as is, but might equally like the version you're imagining. My only major disagreement is tracks 1-4. I think the first 4 are rock solid....might be my favorite opening stretch of any Wilco record. I prefer the album Muzzle of Bees to most any other version. And I like the curveball that is the kraut-rock Spiders. To me, it has as much life as ALTWYS. But on tracks 5-12, you make interesting points. I like the diversity that Hummingbird adds to the album...but I could understand the argument that it doesn't fit. I actually

This would be a good thread to flag and bring out a week after "Sky Blue Sky's" release...kind of like sports reporters in August predicting who's gonna win the Super Bowl the upcoming year. I have a real good feeling about "SBS". Like Muzzle of Bees or At Least That's What You Said, the new album will get "Wilco-ized" in the studio, and come May, most of us will love what we hear.

Dash 7 would make my top 10 Wilco song list. There's something very unique and powerful about it.

I bought "Till the Sun Turns Black" and like it quite a bit. Not a perfect album, but I reallylike his voice and guitar playing. And some of the music is unique. I don't have his first album, but have heard it's as good or better than his newest.

Jeff talked about the new album tonight in Nashville

A really good music critic from the KC Star, Timothy Finn, has a music blog. His new headline talks about the Decemberists new concert dates and mentions that Wilco's new album will be called Sky Blue Sky. So I posted a reply. Then he replied back. Here's what was said: The Decemberists have posted their 2007 tour at MySpace and we are on it. The band will stop at the Uptown Theater on April 21. And according to Pitchfork, WIlco has figured out when its new album will be released: "Sky Blue Sky" is due in stores on May 15. You can stream a cut from the album at the Pitchfork link. -
Let's Fight and Either Way are two of the most perfect new songs, in my opinion. I like the rockin' crescendo of Let's Fight and, seeing Either Way live, I fell in love with it's beauty....Nels' guitar lines are really nice. I also saw Is That The Thanks I Get live, and thought it was a fun sing-along for the crowd. And it's an enjoyable tune. But I'm not all that disappointed it's not on the album.

I like "Sky Blue Sky". Goes with supposed more-positive lyrics of the newer songs. -
I can understand the dislike of Stacy's Mom...it was played to death. But I still rather like the tune. The lyrics are classic Fountains of Wayne....I like the line, "I could tell she liked me from the way she stared. And the way she said, 'You missed a spot over there.' " Their lyrics can range from silly to touching to funny to clever... Simply calling them another pop band belittles their talent I think. I appreciate the lyric writing of FOW. I've heard many decent pop songs who's lyrics are totally unforgettable.

If the album comes out May 15th, when might we expect to hear early reviews from those lucky enough to get advanced copies? March? Early April maybe? -

Nice job on the cover art, Socbret. That's funny. All of Wilco's cd covers have been a single photo. The next probably won't be an exception, bu I could envision the "Sky Blue Sky" cover to be an impressionistic illustration of some sort. Will be interesting to see the art direction on the new album..."Ghost" was rather simple but nice. This is kind of a minor thing, but I like that Wilco put the songs on the backs of their CDs...with the number of the song before each title. I have many discs that I'll listen to....sometimes while driving...and I'll have to open the damn cd and pull out -
If you don't like great pop-rock music....which I think Stacy's Mom is....you won't like Fountains of Wayne. But, to me, Fountains of Wayne is one of the best ever at crafting catchy, fun songs with interesting and/or fun/funny lyrics. None of their albums has disappointed me. Utopia Parkway, to me, is their finest...lots of good stuff on that album. Can't wait to hear the new one.

So we know that: - Jeff talked about crap. - Played for 2 hours. - Sang Acuff Rose, California Stars, Theologians and Heavy Metal Drummer. - Jeff also "played some songs that I haven't heard before. I'm not really up to date. Sorry." - You think Glenn sucked. If only all concert reviews could be so thorough.

I feel like the new album might be a classic, much like Being There. I love the roughness of AM, the darkness and poppiness of Summerteeth, the mystery and experimentation of YHF, and the spontaneity of A Ghost is Born. But, to me, Being There is the album that always feels most comfortable. And, after hearing a bunch of the new songs...with the combination of fabulous band musicianship (Nels' play on some of the new songs is beautiful and Kotche never stops amazing), Tweedy's expanding vocal ability, and lyrics that seem generally hopeful and universal...I think this might be the Wilco

Yeah, I'm cool with the break. In fact, I think it would be smart if they hold off on touring until right after the album release...the longer they're out, the more exciting it'll be when they return to the stage. And the better chance that we'll get to see a show that's radically different from the shows they've done the past 2 years. But it doesn't sound like much of a break for new Dad John Stirrat (touring all of February and March). And Nels and Glenn will be all over the next month or so. As for "finishing the album", don't you all think it's basically done? Tweedy and whoever's

I just saw all the Autumn Defense dates....they play until very late March. And rumors seem to suggest Wilco may go to Australia in late March or April. I'm guessing the US will next see live Wilco in May.

"According to their attorney, Gloria Allred, they were ordering drinks when Richards berated them for interrupting his act. "When one of their group replied that he wasn't funny, Richards launched into a string of obscenities and repeatedly used the n-word. A video cell phone captured the outburst." I like the little sentence that says, "when one of their group replied he wasn't funny..." C'mon. I'm sure it was more than that. First, I heard the guys came in late...drawing attention to themselves. And I can't believe it to be true that ONE heckler says "you're not funny". That's it?

Putting together a Christmas wish list for family, and was curious what you all thought is Stewart's career shining moment? (Thanks).
