this thread is killing me to read after attending hammerstein. we just assumed it would be impossible to get tickets at the door for warsaw so we stayed away (did anyone have any luck at the door?? how did the id policy work out?) i called the venue regarding the id thing and they said they couldn't guarantee that they'd honor it so...sadly...we didn't go and work the line. boy, do i regret that right about now.

oh, yeah, i meant since the release of sky blue sky.

i know...i'd just like to see them on there (yes, again) to promote the new album since conan is my favorite late night host.

the real question is: why haven't they been on conan yet??

not true. this album isn't anywhere close to funeral. it's not hitting me like funeral did either. i'm even kinda iffy about this album.

i missed the streaming of SBS on saturday so this is my first time hearing a finished track. i like how "what light" came out -- they sound like the band at times!

really? i prefer sevilla (in terms of spain, at least). i found barcelona to be extremely americanized (ie - it seemed people would rather we not even speak spanish to them since everyone speaks english there) and it felt a lot like new york...not like spain. that's just me though. and sorry to hijack this thread.

some great suggestions here. as for my suggestions, i really love filomena's restaurant in georgetown. it's worth the hassle to get into georgetown. the food is outstanding and a real treat. other than that, check the black cat & 930 club's websites to see if there's a good show when you're a town, they're both a great place to catch a show. lastly, for a great independent book/record store, check out olsson's. it's a chain within DC and worth a visit.

YES. that commercial w/ the NPs playing is beyond bizarre to me.

i enjoy "the luckiest guy on the lower east side" by the magnetic fields. pretty much anything off 69 love songs will work.
