Yeah, it seems like a lost art. I think the whole "fade out/fade back in" thing killed it. I was just thinking the other day about the old "hidden track" thing and how no one does it anymore.

King Harvest has a strange fadeout as well, considering the song ends immediately after the fade
-
I haven't listened to the vinyl in a long time, but I am certain it fades out there too. "If I thought it would do any good, I'd stand on the rock where Moses stood..." I always thought that was kind of a wierd fadeout.

also recently purchased, but haven't explored fully: TOO MUCH NEW MUSIC!!! I wish I had 6 ears.

I don't really care for Thanksgiving food. On the whole, Thanksgiving food is more of a ritual than something I TRULY enjoy, as it is mostly devoid of the kind of flavor I think food should have when HOURS are spent preparing it. Being from an Italian-American family, I am routinely blessed with top-notch baked ziti and ravioli, garlic bread, my grandma's meatballs, etc etc. As far as food is concerned, Christmas Eve is my time to bask in my family's culinary gifts.

I avoid fast food like the plague. However, when I was on tour with my brother's band in June '06, the Taco Bell hit the spot at 2:00 in the morning in god-forsaken Quincy, Illinois. I had $5 left for the day, with which I wisely purchased 5 soft tacos, which inspired a little economic envy from the other van passengers who had to go all extravagant with their burritos and nachos. Moral: at 2 AM in Quincy, Illinois, Taco Bell kicks ass. I must concur, after that same midwest tour, I was won over by the quality of a $3 sandwich from jimmy john's.

No Tortoise for Chi-town? That sucks. -
Damn, that Wowee Zowee has a bit of an impressionist feel. Nice work.

Uh You didn't see the real Misfits. No Danzig = SHIT
-
Yikes. I can't see how that could be good in any way. I've never heard it, so I can't say, but I think I'll avoid that one. To me, Curtis is like The Band or Joni Mitchell: there are some artists that are so unique they are better off left alone, as far as covering them is concerned.

I got my first tatse of Eno last Friday when I picked up Another Green World on a whim, and I am definitely glad I made that purchase. Its a phenomenal record and I look forward to discovering more of his stuff.

The local "cool" radio station has been playing JT's cover of "Simple Twist of Fate" lately, and I'm loving it.

Wilco - Sky Blue Sky The Sea And Cake - Everybody Dr. Dog - We All Belong Didn't buy any other new records this year. I'm still trying to catch up with so much of the classic stuff.

Wow, I didn't know the Mothers Of Invention were involved with Microsoft.

I'm glad someone brought this up because I've been wondering the same thing.

Yeah. Maybe someone should introduce them to the idea of mass suicide. The world would be a better place.

I really dug Nels' open string/quarter note triplet thing during the IG solo. Nice touch. -

Great stuff, sir. It gives a "struggling" songwriter like myself a little bit of inspiration. Thank you. -
How about "Thunder Road"?
