  1. Bono is everywhere, but U2 isn't all that relevent. They make kajillions on tour, but so does every popular eighties band that reunites. I don't think 'How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb' caused quite a stir as 'In Rainbows'. I don't know why, but Radiohead is the biggest band of today. Best band? No...well, probably to someone.
  2. Saw half of From Here to Eternity until the DVR blew up.
  3. Until Coldplay was surrounded by Wilco, who extinguished the torch because it had gone too far down the wrong path since the eighties.
  4. Dawn of Civilization ------> The Shaggs -------> Apocolypse
  5. If we can go on the offerings of radio stations that advertise themselves as alternative rock, I don't think either album has anything close to it. I also think AGIB remains their most rock-oriented album since Being There.
  6. I don't know how many people here download from the virtual console, but 'Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels' is the best $6 I've spent in a long time. Overshadows SMGalaxy for me right now.
  7. really? i think i'll write that up on Wikipedia.
  8. c'mon, the acoustic solo on 'Sky Blue Sky' puts 'ALTWYS' to shame. i hope Wilco has the good sense to skip this again.
  9. Arabs in Afghanistan - Xyloolaena 1. Old Penny Sterling 2. Variable Interest Entity 3. Community Network 4. Eristalis Tenax 5. Swing Bowling 6. The Eagle And The Hawk 7. Viscount Weir 8. Compulsion 9. Hessenberg Matrix 10. Ante Christum Natum 11. 1,3-Dipolar Cylcloaddition 12. Tactic British Math-Rockers with an inexplicable John Denver influence.
  10. if i ever get and iPod touch, i think i'm programmed to go to the iTunes store and download "music is my boyfriend...doodoodeedoo...music is my girlfriend..." i don't know how i feel about this.
  11. it is in the running for mine, though when i see it posted ten times here i may switch it out.
  12. You see, I would think that the undead and a woman with a machinegun leg would be more interesting than a really safe stunt car. But Quentin's record is better than Robert's. I'm not in a rush to see either of these anyway, so I have nothing to add other than I saw part of Kill Bill vol 1 on tv the other night and I think that the volumes could easily be combined if you cut out the musically timed dramatic glares into the camera before each fight sequence, but what's the fun in that i guess.
  13. I have it but I've been distracted by the virtual console. so many NES memories, finishing games you couldn't win as a kid is a new kind of fulfillment for me.
  14. Based on what I found for the front covers, my guess is There's a Riot Goin' On.
  15. "According to reports, his lower back exploded when nurses changed the channel to a Ron Paul commercial." that's Wikipedia for you.
  16. so you're making fun of the Clinton campaign while some supporters are in danger?
  17. I went with Indy, always a lot of fun. I second the Bourne trilogy too.
  18. the first time i saw this. f'ing amateurs.
  19. count me in. though mine will probably be my top ten songs of 2007 that work well in a mix.
  20. At least one band that has formed or has reached "height of creative powers" in the last decade?
