well, a good amount of people know about The Pogues, but not so many give Shane-less Pogues a fair shake. i love this album, completely outside of their element, they seem to reach new creative heights. "Tuesday Morning" by Stacy and "Once Upon A Time" by Finer are unheralded classics.

still not a fan of this animal collective. too much going on for my tastes. I like "unsolved mysteries", though that also has too much embellishment and is drawn out. i find bits of the album attractrive, sounds and melodies, but the overall feeling is repetitive, drawn out, and unpleasant...and not in a good way.

before this thread i've felt compelled to post about how "Leave Me Like You Found Me" sounds like solo Lennon. not only is it a song i could imagine John singing, but the guitar sound makes me want to put on one of his albums.

solid, but a little bland at points. there seems to me a big stylistic difference between their first two albums and the last two. they're currently battling earlimart for my cd player, they won today.
